When Leo opened the door and found the foyer empty, staircase unoccupied by a leaning, waiting Aiden. His heart fell. Nothing about this whole situation—the last few weeks—none of it was normal. But this wasn’t normal either. None of this felt right. His bags hit the ground and his feet were carrying him up the stairs even though his mind was certain that Aiden had finally taken off. So what if the shoes were still by the door? He’d probably just found a better pair or had been so dead set against imposing that he’d stubbornly gone out into the slush without any. Fucking kid.
“He wanted another chance. He wanted to go back and be better, do more, fight harder for the kid.”

The power in the line ‘you was never really rooting for me anyway’ is so freaking raw and holds so much power it is astronomical. Because all the people who criticise him now after vibing to old town road know that they are two faced bitches!
