Fractals are a computer-generated art form, a manipulation of triangular shapes to make a symmetrical picture. A fractal is a never-ending pattern, much like a kaleidoscope. I found the program online. Once I got the hang of it, fractal art became a wonderful way to relax and create beautiful designs. This one, called “Angels Watching Over You,” is my favorite. Why? The very first set of wings I drew on the doors of The West Volusia Beacon newspaper office in DeLand, Florida, were done in chalk (and with permission, of course). Summer rain washed them away. Another set was brought back by popular demand, though, this time with weatherproof paint. Those wings became a social-media sensation. One evening last summer, a group attending a youth revival in Ramona, CA spotted this beautiful angel cloud watching over them as they prayed. Luckily for us, Dennis Houston was there to capture the picture, and “Angels on Earth” reader Monica Starkey was kind enough to send in this wonderful angel sighting.

Today we wanted to share a special Angel Sighting from one of our staff members.
“Shortly after New Year’s Day I took my first trip to the Cloisters. Tour groups buzzed around! Needing a moment to myself, I walked away from everyone and luckily found a secluded spot in the gardens. There before me, the sunlight peeked through the arches and an image of an angel appeared on the stone wall. Seeing this angel let me know that my new year would be just fine.”
