#ankabi

I like to think that Anka and Rico lived to be very accomplished and very old women. And when their time came, they passed warm in their beds, with loved ones around them, and two very special gentlemen waiting for them on the other side. 

Three if you count Pixis. I count Pixis. 

Gustav is the last to go and everyone is there on the other side, waiting for him. :-)

Canon

• Mitabi never really liked to read. But he liked listening to Anka read. He never really cared what she was reading - he just liked her voice. 
• Anka and Mitabi did not always have the same days off so what time they had together was important. They would always try and have a meal together and maybe wander around the marketplace. 
• People were surprised that Anka and Mitabi were together. Until they saw them together. Then it made sense. 
• One time Gustav and Ian caught Mitabi trying to sneak out of Anka’s room and was just like, “You’re 30 years old Mitabi. Stop. Everyone knows.” “And we can hearyou in there….”

• They never really go to say goodbye. When Anka found out that Mitabi had been killed she wanted to see his body. Pixis and Gustav (who had seen what was left of him) made it very clear that she did not want to do that. 
• Anka could not bring herself to clean out Mitabi’s quarters. Rico did that for her. She made sure Anka got the quilt off Mitabi’s bed, his pipe and a pouch of tobacco, and some of his clothes, letters, and the ring she found in his bottom drawer. 
• Anka would visit Mitabi’s grave once a week. She’d bring a book and read out loud. 

Modern

• They met in college at a party.
• The first thing Anka noticed about Mitabi was his arms. His biceps were as big around as her thigh. 
• The first thing Mitabi noticed about Anka was her pretty eyes. That were glaring at him because he accidently hit her with a ping pong ball.
• He apologized and offered to get her a drink. She asked for just a regular Coke and they spent the rest of the night talking in the kitchen. 
• After they got married and had their first kid, a daughter named Vera, they bought a fixer upper on the outskirts of town. Both are fairly handy so they could do a fair amount of the work themselves. 
• Anka keeps a lovely garden. She always wanted a proper garden. She has a rose bush that is a lot of work and she is very proud of it. 
• Mitabi’s parenting style…Anka is okay with it.

• They had four kids all together. That is more than they thought they would have - but they make it work.
• Both love shoes. Mitabi is a sneaker man and Anka has more ballet flats than she can count. 
• Anka had c-sections with all the kids. Mitabi was a nervous if solid support. He always had to wear a cover over his beard and he looked a little silly in all the pictures with the newborns. 
• Vera is the oldest, JJ and RJ are their twin boys, and Dagmar is the youngest. 
• Anka is self conscious about the scars on her stomach. Mitabi always makes her feel better about them.
• They still sleep in the same full bed they had when they first moved in together. They can afford a new one at this point - but they like it. The closeness and the memories. And Anka is always cold and Mitabi is her human space heater.
