In Miami Seaquarium’s gift shop is this display. I really dislike the facade of legitimacy the NatGeo branding adds to this (otherwise toy-filled) corner of the shop.
I suspect that the signage was likely part of them purchasing x amounts of books to sell (to create a display), and doesn’t indicate a deeper partnership. But I don’t *know*.
So I’m going to poke around and see what’s going on here, and see what can be done. Because the Seaquarium is legitimately disgusting and - while by this token it’s ironically selling more actual books than Seaworld in Orlando was - it doesn’t deserve even this kind of surface legitimization.
FWIW, MSQ takes pages straight out of Seaworld’s shitty playbook.
Just…
Lmao. This is disgusting. “Protect Miami Seaquarium?” You’re not a wildlife reserve, and as such contribute nothing to the environment or wild populations, sit the fuck down.
