The Zionist argument is that Israel is necessary as a redoubt and a safe haven for Jews in the event of another Shoah. Yet not even all Jews are safe in Israel. The State of Israel routinely discriminates against Ethiopian, Kochin, Mizrahi, Sephardi, and Yemeni Jews. It outright denies the Jewishness of groups such as Ugandan Jews. The use of Yiddish was aggressively suppressed in Israel for decades. Israeli religious authorities are typically ambivalent and tersely tolerant of Reform Judaism, and at worst openly hostile, denying the legitimacy of Reform conversions. Israel is not a safe place for Jews or Judaism. It is a parasitic entity which flattens and reduces Jewish identity to a single acceptable homogenous concept. The State of Israel is not a safe place for Jews or Judaism - it is actively destructive to them.
