#apartment homesteading

I have now moved. Everything is IN the apartment, but it has been hardly touched at this point. This apartment is going to wonderfully increase my ability to be an urban homesteader, since it is now just my boyfriend and me. The pantry is HUGE, we have our deep freeze up and running, and I finally have a kitchen I can cook in!

The biggest downside right now is that there’s no balcony. We knew this coming in, but it still severely limits what I can do with plants. Also, all of our windows are east and west facing, no south facing windows.

But, that’s okay. The largest window in the place is west facing, and I’m going to see if I can convince a tomato plant, some salad greens, and a few carrots to grow there. We shall see.
