Izumo, you gave the most out of everyone. You quietly accepted the fact that your wanted successor decided to follow another mentor. You lost your best friend to a bullet and your other best friend to a sword. You brought your best friends to their resting places.
Yet and your loving heart never paused for a break.
Your red is so warm, honest, and full of understanding and love. It is warm enough to still adore Fushimi and take care of your rowdy found family. It is honest enough to fulfill your promise to be there for Tatara. It’s understanding and loving enough to step back and allow Mikoto to follow his desires.
The world took away a lot from you yet you continue to give and give and give. You always had so much to offer within you… The friendly advices, the strategies, the knowledge, a drink, a commentary. You are so full of warmth that I often wonder if after everything, have you ever felt cold in losing the ones you love most?
You stayed strong for the ones left under your care. But Izumo, when Tatara took his final breath, he took a part of you with him too. When Mikoto’s heart stopped beating, a part of yours did too. And despite everything, you continued to smile, to stand firm, to make sure that the same sad events won’t happen again.
