Hampstead Garden Suburb is an area of North West London filled with high-value detached houses. It’s 6 November 2008 and I’m walking along one of the roads in this area.
Situated at a sharp bend in the road is a large house which was undergoing renovation. A builder’s van is parked partly on the pavement outside. There’s a young chap searching for something inside.
The last thing I would expect to see in front of one of these houses is a middle-aged man on his knees with his large, pimply backside on show. But that’s exactly what I saw when I looked towards the house.
In the front garden was a slightly portly middle-aged man on his knees with various tools spread around him including a spirit level. His back was to the road.
November isn’t exactly the warmest month of the year in London but this man was wearing a t-shirt and a rather loose-fitting pair of jeans. It was rather a delightful surprise to see his wide, spotty arse bursting out of his beltless jeans. There was no sign of any underwear.
Fortunately, I had a camera with me and was able to look over the surrounding hedge as he painstakingly laid new paving in front of the house. Unfortunately, after a few minutes, his mate returned from the van and saw me standing there. So, I had to walk away.
