More shots of these copper arm rings - requested by @daybreak_firearts . These rings were forged from copper bar stock (1.5"x.25"x12") from @onlinemetals . I am able to get 3 solid cuffs from one bar of copper.
I used simple handmade chisels and a couple center punches to firge in the decorations.
Copper is a lovely material to forge and has a magical glow about it.

Portrait of “Margherita Gonzaga” (detail)(1591–1632), Princess of Mantua,Oil on canvas, preserved in Palatina Gallery, Florence.Pourbus was court painter of Archduke Albert in Brussels , he went to Italy at the invitation of Vincenzo Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua. This portrait must depict the Duke of Mantua’s daughter, Margherita, to judge from Pourbus’s full-length portrait of her in the Uffizi, Florence. In this period Rubens also worked for Vincenzo Gonzaga, but he eagerly left the painting of formal portraits and a gallery of “beauties” to Pourbus, who in 1611 became Maria de’ Medici’s court painter in Paris.
