i suppose i should explain my absence. the short of it that i was lazy. the medium of it was that i was annoyed cuz vpn se tumblr chalana can get tiring really fast. the long of it is that i was tired and having issues™ with my self and the track so was distanced for a while. so yeah.

this has been QUITE a week I must say. with three maha epi length episodes and three functions all done within a week…YES THERE IS A LOT TO TALK ABOUT. and for the “a lot” is even bigger because I haven’t said anything here about the events that have led up to this week. i talked a bit maybe on twitter with my gc kameenis (shoutout to my dramatic girls!) and I have talked about it with MYSELF a lot but not really here. i’ll just summarize it and say I fully support this wedding. Aryan has done nothing wrong ever and it is in Imlie’s interest to just go with it.

i understand the concern about dynamics changing or Aryan’s character changing. the shaadi track Aryan is a lot different from the Aryan that we are used to seeing wrt Imlie and her agency. i get it. but it’s also quite clear to me why Aryan is going so all-out in forcing Imlie into a situation that he knows she’ll feel trapped in. because the alternative is another trap for her. and that trap will have no way out for her. so he’s forcing her into a trap which at least has a way out. and he’s also pushing her to find ways out of it, essentially making sure that she never feels powerless or helpless. 

it’s twisted but it’s also very in line with how Aryan has always been when it comes to reminding Imlie of the power that she holds.

once we remember that Aryan is not a “knight in shining armor” type of a hero and instead is more of a Yoda level mentor for Imlie with some classic ITV ML qualities..it all makes sense.

and when we speak of dynamics and where they stand currently then today’s episode made it pretty much clear, didn’t it?

it’s all a part of game that they play.

it’s him chasing her, her avoidin him.

him attacking her, her defending herself.

her teasing her, him taking it as a challenge.

and ultimately them realizing how ridiculous this entire game is and laughing about it.

ek toh MAJOR kudos to the direction, choreography, and cinematography of the entire chase sequence for visually capturing the nuance of the arylie relationship that has taken 100+ episodes to be established with some major help of dialogues. Aryan and Imlie didn’t exchange one word for more than half the episode and yet you just knew what was going on with them. and the way how the focus remained on these two despite them being surrounded by other people was as apt a representation as it can be that this is theirstory now. everyone else is just…background noise. mere supports that come into action when necessary for the sake of propelling their story forward. 

just look at how Imlie bumps into Sundar and she is delighted to see an old friend and is ready to be colored by him but Aryan comes in and washes away the color in Sundar’s hand, RED COLOR, in a definite show of authority. no. this wasn’t Sundar or anyone else’s place. the right to color Imlie first is only Aryan’s. that’s the whole game of the day, isn’t it? and Imlie pouts but immediately laughs before running away because she’s not mador she thinks Aryan is trying to come in between her and her “apne”..she knows that’s not the case. she laughs because she knows her giving anyone else the right that he has claimed for himself would rile him up. and she’s gleeful to see it work. Aryan doesn’t mind. he would never mind her tricks. because he WANTS her to use her clever little brain and come at him with all she’s got. he knows he has it within him to keep with all her tricks and ploys.

no offense to Sundar though. Aryan does put on some color on him before resuming his chase.

urgh how can anyone dislike this man he’s so sweet and considerate!!!

I like this Imlie. she was smirking the entire time looking at Aryan. the mischievous smiles she threw his way. the teasing looks. the way she made sure to enjoy within the circle of her “apne” knowing fully well Aryan stood outside of it keeping an eye on her every move. in normal circumstances this would count as seduction.

‘I’m here. dare you to come and get me.’ 

Aryan says he doesn’t lose but Imlie makes him really earn his victory by making she he doesn’t get it easy. i mean plssss the way she used Narmada as a shield when Aryan threw the color in her direction and Aryan was all O.O as a reaction aksjdhwewa! yeah right dude you think you is some big hotshot who can have it all his way well then you is wrong because Imlie only walks the way she likes!

but that is what attracts him to her, isn’t it? 

all the paths she walks where he always follows. taking him to places he never dreamed of going before. making him face the feelings he thought were long dead for him. she..excites him. when she challenges him…that becomes his invitation to live and not just breathe. for a man so used to easily having his way…her defiance makes him challenge even himself and not just her. in his motive to push her to reach her true potential, he also pushes himself to become a little more sharper than he already is, a little more stronger than he is, a little more resilient..

it’s not for the sake of controlling her. you know na what they say about choosing your enemies more wisely than choosing your friends? a good enemy will always keep you on your toes. and well yeah Aryan is the self-proclaimed villain of Imlie’s life and she already claims to “hate” him so he is that enemy for her that she has to defeat. so ultimately..isn’t it a necessity for Aryan to become the bad guy for Imlie to remain the hero of her story and not fall victim to it?

when he finally catches up to her and they laugh at the silliness of it all before resuming the game. 

URGH THIS ENTIRE BIT REALLY HAS ALL MY HEART!!!

the laughter..LAUGHTER! ARYAN WAS LAUGHING. HE LAUGHED. since we have met him..this is the first time he has laughed. smiled yes..a couple of times before. but this uninhibited laughter..that’s a first. laughing because of Imlie. laughing with Imlie. her holding him when he stumbles…him pulling her close when she stumbles. it really is just THEM isn’t it?

true to his character..Aryan doesn’t forget. the pichkari in his hand..he takes aim. she..who had forgotten momentarily..is surprised to see the game being resumed. she protests. she silently pleads. no. she doesn’t want. and all he does is just…ask her without asking…really? she’s gonna quit? like that? a challenge she gave him…a game that they both played…a victory that she knows he has earned…was she going to take the coward’s way out and make excuses? her? his Jungli? flipping the table when the dice didn’t roll her way? 

that’s not her.

and she understands.

her arm drops. with a sigh and a pout..she gets ready to be doused in his colors. the deal is the deal. he won this round. but her stance..that wasn’t that of a person defeated. that wasn’t of the person giving up. that was a person…surrendering. shields lowered, weapons dropped…this wasn’t a defeat. this was acceptance. of his victory that doesn’t result in her loss. how could she lose when he’sthe one winning? 

I can bet had Nalla not come there sneaking in like the loser that he is…Aryan would’ve put down the pichkari.

how can he win if she’s the one losing?

Aryan saves her from the seen and the unseen danger. and she doesn’t realize it. and that right there is the entire crux of this track. he’s saving her from dangers she isn’t even aware of. if him saving her in this moment was the right thing to do…why not extend that understanding towards the whole track, eh?

he takes on the pain meant for her and she doesn’t even realize it forget caring for him. calls him “pathar” but acts like one herself. Imlie is always so wrapped in her own little world..only seeing what she wishes to see. only caring for whom she wishes to care for. saamne koi marr bhi raha hoga toh isse parwah nahin. selective care only exclusive for her “apne”…that’s Imlie for you :)))

a drunk conversation made for laughs made me the saddest in the episode. it’s the way Aryan is so aware of her apathy towards him. the way he already knows and has accepted that in her long list of people she would ever care for…Aryan isn’t even included. she who cares for her chappal more than his injured eye…he isn’t completely wrong to say she would only taunt him if he shares what’s hurting him with her. which is so ironic considering how she willingly walked in a ring of fire to pray for HIS LIFE.

ASKDJAHWEWA JUST LOOK AT HOW TWISTED THEIR RELATIONSHIP HAS BECOME AND CRY!!

these two IDIOTS are so unaware of the things they do for each other behind each others back. only taking each other actions on face value. ready to kill and die for each other but never ready to admit it. having no expectations from each other yet always being disappointed when the isn’t there for them. kya hain yeh yaar? 

the three point summary Imlie gave of their complicated relationship…where he gives her more than what she asks for. gives her strength she asks for support. gives her favor when she asks for help. gives her betrayal when she asks for friendship. of course she’s torn about how to feel about this person..this man whom she can neither decipher nor predict. 

this person..this man..that she feels so much for but doesn’t know it. this person..this man..who has tied himself around her in a hold she wants to run away from and also stay within. the one she wants by her side but on her conditions only. the one she wishes would bend for her while she remains steady. the one who frustrates her because he refuses to do just that. she really is like a child when around him…isn’t she? insolent..stubborn…prone to throwing tantrums. and so far he has dealt with her childishness with much patience. giving in when necessary…reprimanding her when it gets too much.

however. here. in this moment. with restrain given up and a challenge that still needs to be fulfilled…i think he’s gonna stop treating her like the child she makes herself to be and treat her like the woman that she is.

yesterday I talked about how Imlie was being selfish in her demands that Aryan wake up and come back to her. of how this time it was personal for her that he survives. so i suppose an argument can be made that Nalla was also being selfish and if one kind of selfishness can be allowed so should the other be

Imlie’s selfishness is not toxic. even in her selfishness she is selfless. she walked in a ring of fire just because of a tiny speck of hope that praying there will grant her the fulfillment of her wish. she was ready to burn if it meant saving Aryan. she was ready to be hurt if it mean her paying back all the pain..the pain that was meant to be for her…that Aryan took upon himself.

honestly i was a bit scared when Nalla went on his entire spiel specially with “evidence” in his hands. so it was a bit of a fearful scene to watch…what Imlie’s reaction was going to be. but this girl this QUEEN straight up told him to STFU and shove his pity party up his ass. specially that line about how Malini has left her influence ALLL over him because he cannot see anything without seeing some sinister scheme. 

Imlie did not fail Aryan today. Imlie did not fail US today. she recalls every bit..every moment where Aryan has selflessly been there for her. always giving, never demanding. it was this reason why she was praying in the ring of fire in the first place! he who is not her “apna”..he who she calls his friend despite his vehement protests against the usage of the word while simultaneously going above and beyond doing more than what the rishta of friendship entails.

LMAO YEAH NALLA CANNOT RELATE.

AND WHO THE FUCK IS NALLA TO EXPLAIN TO HER WHAT SHE SHARES WITH ARYAN?!?!

I SCREAMED at the little head shaking in no when Nalla tried to say Aryan wasn’t her friend. like she didn’t even entertain the merest of possibility that Aryan WASN’T a friend…that he WASN’T a well wisher…that he DOESN’T care for her well being…that he had ANY sinister motive behind his constant support that he showed her….

the things Imlie and Aryan have gone through are so exclusive to just THEM…who is any outsider let alone NALLA to try to comprehend them? And i am so GLAD Imlie gave Nalla just a tiny glimpse of the things Aryan has done for Imlie. yeah…she’ll judge Aryan based on what she has SEEN of him…based on what she has EXPERIENCED with him. his past…what Nalla’s twisted narrative about Aryan is…Imlie doesn’t give a flying FUCK about that.

and the BEST part was how she RAN back to the hospital the moment she got the news that Aryan was awake.
