“Hmph. Not ruined enough for my liking.” She pulled out a P-2020 and unloaded it into his crumbling form. Oil and melted metal painted the floor and walls. By the time she was finished with him, he was a mere heap of scrap. It hardly appeared that he had once been sentient. He hardly appeared like anything at all. Kairi dropped the gun into the pile and spat at him, before turning to leave.
Quietly, his memory chip flashed, and entered protective mode.

“Autarch?”, the guardian called. “Scouts just reported in from the fourth planet… you should see this.”
A weakened sigh escaped my throat as I approached. “Please tell me it’s not another Khornate attack?”
“It’s not a Khornate attack,” he clarified, “but… see what we found on the second moon…”
My eyes met the image upon the viewscreen with bitter scrutiny… the image revealed what seemed to be black pyramids emerging from the ground. I knew immediately what they were…
“…Necrons…”
