#avatar comics

LIVE

I’ve read “The North and the South” and it’s cool, but not great enough for the last Avatar comics (or, maybe it’s not last, and I just don’t know about the next?). It’s mostly about Sokka, Katara, their tribe and their father. One more time environment problem (like in “The Rift”, and connection with that story was probably the reason to bring Toph back?), and the new thing was water siblings and their father dealing with the loss of the mother. (SPOILERS!) Hakoda has a girlfriend now. Sorry. And they also get Zuko back, because of southern water tribe coming into the world of politics.

I’ve read “The Rift” and it was worse than “The Search” – it has two ideas about ecology and “bad capitalist”. We have some more spirit stuff and a person, who finds Toph more exciting person than Avatar and cool interaction with Toph’s metal bender students. Oh, and reunion of Toph and her father.

I’ve read “The Search” and liked it very much. It’s a story about Zuko looking for his mother (SPOILERS!) - You remember that cliffhanger at the end of the series? So, here we see the development of this. Here are two parallel stories: about the search and about Ursa’s youth and her early life as a wife of the Fire Lord. Both of them are interesting and of course, they are connected. In the search story, Azula is back, because Zuko wants her to help him in the quest, of course, she tries to run away or fight Zuko. And he tries to be a good brother, to be nice to her. Once, when he covers her during the cold night and finds a letter from his mother to her ex-boyfriend. It says that Zuko is their son. (actually (real SPOILERS!) it’s not true). Then Avatar team, Zuko and Azula find Ursa’s home village and a family of actors. And Zuko is very sweet in that scenes.   Then we have a bunch of spirit stuff connected with faces (Remember that spirit from the end of the “Water” book? Like him, but here we have the Main Spirit of Faces.) and find out that actress from the village is actually Ursa. But she remembers nothing, and then Zuko comes back and Azula chases him. This woman, who doesn’t remember Azula, Zuko or anything felt sorry for Azula, who tries to kill her right now! But then she got her face and memories back and everybody is happy (well, except Azula).

This post wasn’t supposed to be so long, but it just happened… Sorry.

KATARA IS SUCH AN ANGEL

Hey, where’d this preview come from?

Katara in “The Boy in the Iceberg”: I haven’t done this since I was a kid!
Katara in “North and South”: I still AM a kid!

Also, I am SCREAMING. I am officially ok with Zuko not being in N & S to bring everyone more full circle.
