Dream of the Twelfth Labour, 2017

In my dream I am adolescent Heracles having a prophetic dream about the twelfth labour. In search for the putrid Avernus I travel far south. The further I go the thicker the fog gets but there’s no stench to guide me to the entrance – on the contrary, I’m treated to the most exotic flower fragrance. After a while I spot a source of light in the mist and it soon leads me to a lavender field with a decorated crystal coffer towering above it. Inside the coffer there’s an enormous shriveled corpse – its chest being consumed by smokeless fire in complete silence. I realize this is the entrance to Hades I’ve been after and rejoice. Without delay I shatter the coffer and immediately wake up into the darkness of hell – as a naked youth. I remember a woman laughing in front of me. The shock breaks the spell and I wake up again marveling about the idea of unleashing hell upon the world as the only means of entering it.

OrDresh ‘‘Postman Pat’’ Pattious - a humanisation of his name. Half-drow/half-orc, eldritch knight for an Avernus campaign I’m playing in.
Dresh is a postman (who recently became a knight, as you do) and he has a package to deliver in Elturel - a city that has sunken into the nine hells?
This is fine. A minor setback. He will deliver that package.
This is my first lawful good character I’ve ever played and it’s actually super fun! Lawful stern. Packages will be delivered. On time.

In one of the most stressful (but epic) moments I’ve had in a DnD game, Ren had to fly off and stop an assassination. The group had already had a rough day, and he was the only one who could possibly make it in time once we found out about it, and he almost DIED
Ren was actually having some fun solving these murder mysteries until he realized someone he knows and thought was dead is actually alive, in the city, and a potential target. He lost his chill a little bit
So anyway,
Just some Ren content bc we all already know I have no self control
So it turns out resistance to nonmagical weapon attacks doesn’t apply to high-velocity projectiles launched with a Catapult spell
I just think he’s neat
One of the first things my DM did was establish an archivist NPC friend of Ren’s. I love the dynamic and can’t wait to interact with him in game.

(Context for the conversation is that we are guiding a caravan of refugees and the alternate route that does not pass by the fort is down a steep hill, so Ren was consulted on how we might safely make the descent. He proposed a few ideas that worked and was v proud of himself)
