Chameron but like–

(tw/cw: slight homophobia from charlie)

charlie keeps bullying cameron for not having “game” that he can’t get girls like he does, classic bullying.

“i don even wanna date a girl right now, asshole, I’m busy with school”

“hah- are you gay or something???”

“wtf does that even– you know what, I dont need this rn”

and this goes on, that charlie’s pissing off cam a lot, trying to boast about his own conquests with girls while cameron is seething–

One day cameron gets a date with a girl because his parents wanted him to escort his family friend to her prom. Cam doesnt tell his friends this was an arranged thing and tells them that “He had game too”

also wondering like–

Cameron tries to pretend it never happened and Charlie keeps bringing it up (maybe he’s trying to get cam to do it again)

Like he doesnt tell Neil or the others, he just likes to “avoid” cameron in their room like:

“Woah there, keep all the gay on that side of the room thanks”

“?? what’s wrong with you dalton??”

“why do you wanna know? is it cuz you have a big gay crush on me??”

“I don’t, now can you PLEASE stop looking at me while I change.”

“r-right.”

part 3 uhhh

so Cameron gets called to the office because his parents are trying to set him up with that girl again because idk man, parents really want him to date a woman even if he isn’t interested in em

but Cameron agrees on another date with her because maybe it’ll stop charlie from always calling him gay or some virgin again- also because he wanted to see charlie’s reaction

Cameron comes back to his room, seeing a distraught Charlie on his bed, obviously waiting for him to come back.

Charlie’s scowling for a bit, the deafening silence annoying Cameron.

Did Cameron want to tell him he was had another date with a girl? He should, before he gets another homophobic insult from Charlie.

But neither of them say anything.

the night continued and turned into the next day all without the roommates talking.

they’ve been like this the whole week.

Charlie gave a passing glance when they were in class, he couldn’t really avoid Cameron in most of them, he was usually in his peripherals

one of the dead poet meetings (wednesday) Cameron had the audacity to recite a love poem! (ok well techinically, it was a poem about a man sailing out to sea but to Charlie it seemed too vaguely romantic and he thought about it all night)

Friday night comes and Charlie sees Cameron in casual attire, too formal for the study group they were about to head out to. He looked really handsome in it, Charlie thought. He presumed Cameron was trying to get his attention this week, some tease he was planning on

Charlie corners him by the door.

“hey.”

“what? no ‘gay-wad’ or 'homo’ attached to it?” Cameron glared at him, trying to reach for the door knob.

“uh– h-hey, you.” Charlie’s getting tongue tied all of a sudden. He had this whole speech about telling Cameron what happened was just a 2 time thing and that it meant nothing! Nothing…. Right?

“Charlie, I really appreciate the nickname change but I’ve got somewhere to go.”

“We’re both going to the study group, you can wait up for me, right?”

Cameron hasn’t told him yet. He hasn’t told anyone yet. But it isn’t too late to tell Charlie now of all times.

“Sure, hurry up.” Cameron could wait a few more minutes before they go their separate ways that night.

He waits for charlie to change out of his Welton clothes into his study group essentials: A plain white shirt and his spare khakis. Nothing out of the ordinary. But that’s what Charlie notices; he’s wearing something simple and Cameron was not.

“Hey Cam… why are you all dressed up so nice? Trying to impress me or something?”

Cameron cringed a bit “What? No, this is how I normally dress.” When I’m about to go on a date with a girl I am not interested in.

“Then why do you–”

“Why, Dalton? Are you impressed?”

“I– NO! I just–”

“Justwhat, Charlie? You keep insulting me, calling me gay and shit like that? Yet you constantly keep your eyes on me and asking me about kissing you. Maybe you’re gay, Charlie, and you’re just chicken to admit it.”

“So what if I am?!”

Okay, that caught both of them off guard. Charlie’s chest was about to burst and Cameron’s face was heating up.

“I– What if I’m only gay for you, is that a problem?” Charlie tried to come up with some reasoning for his impulsive words. He was starting to crumble into pieces in front of Cameron because Cameron looks so handsome all flustered and surprised.

“N-no that’s–”

Knock Knock “Mr. Cameron, I’m here to pick you up for your appointment.” Mr. Hager was outside and cranky as ever.

Charlie looked at Cameron with a shift in his expression. “Cam…”

“Charlie I… I have to go.” and he did.

Charlie sat there with the rest of the poets in the recc room, “studying” but really it was Meeks and Neil telling him the correct answers- Cameron was the only one who bothered “teaching” him anything.

“Where’d Cameron go?” Meeks looked up from their Latin notes, bringing everyone’s attention to Charlie, the last one in contact with Cameron.

“He… He had an appointment.” Charlie said, not looking up.

“Oh, is that the date his parents set him up with?” Neil chimed in, watching Charlie immediately turn sour.

“date?” Todd and the others ask but they all looked at Charlie for some reaction.

“Yeah, I saw his parents and him come out of Nolan’s office telling him some girl was going to be a great match for him so he should dress nice.”

Cameron did dress nicely. Charlie thought.

He looked really nice. Too nice for her.
