I love Fuches’s characterization over the last two episodes. When they introduced the revenge folktale I thought, “Fuches is willing to become a panther and sacrifice himself for revenge.” This was puzzling because I couldn’t gauge why Fuches would go this far to hurt Barry.

But then in the next episode we see that he doesn’t want to be the panther. Fuches is mobilizing others to hurt Barry and has taken on the role of the god in the folktale. He loves power, and if he can’t exert control over Barry, he’ll use somebody else.

I know Barry is a comedy series, so I think it’d be really really funny if Barry, the man who gave the show its name, DIES and we just keep moving without him. I think that’d be hilarious.

great hader quote. have always appreciated how this show writes and most importantly FILMS violence. its always kind of mundane, this sort of everyday thing, sometimes shocking or disturbing or even breathless, but never ever cool or exciting for its own sake. lots of long takes, lots of still takes, just letting it unfold without visual judgement. which puts the impetus on the audience to judge it. hey i think this guy might be good at directing tv shows
