STARFISH | Part One ⭐️

Summary: Star is content to spend time alone relaxing (and daydreaming about Frankie) after Little and Santi’s destination wedding. But toddler Rosie Morales ensures that’s not how the vacation goes…

Warnings: Language, adult themes, injury, mention of blood.

A/N: Here we go, part one of the follow up to my Little mini series! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!!

You dreamt of Frankie Morales when you went to sleep. The way his eyes fixed on you as you sang with Santi on the beach, his gaze warm and kind. How he had looked in his suit, and then how handsomely disheveled he became as the night wore on until he was rid of his tie, a few buttons undone, revealing the tan, hair-speckled chest beneath. How gently he’d held you as you danced together, as though he thought you were delicate and his large hands had to be extra careful.

Catfish & Sunshine

Frankie Morales x Fem!Reader Mini Series

Summary: Frankie is secretly in love with his best friend. Thanks in part to Benny’s shitty horror movie recommendation and stray ice cream, feelings come out unexpectedly during movie night.

Warnings: Language, SMUT, little angst, lots of fluff, poor writer understanding of US military benefits/retirement. WC 8,215.

A/N: I dreamed this up after rewatching Triple Frontier about a month ago (for the plot, of course) and let it sit for a while. Became inspired to finish it off this week and share it with you all-so please let me know your thoughts!

For over a decade, Saturday nights were, for Frankie Morales, usually spent with his best friends over drinks at their favourite bar. When deployed, the bar was instead smuggled whiskey that they shared under the stars, an attempt to imagine they were anywhere other than the current hellhole. As Special Ops soldiers, Frankie and his buddies had been through the worst of the worst together, until one by one they retired or were forced to retire, and then they were back to regular appearances at the local bar, for a while the five of them, then four.

Until Frankie met you.

Had someone come up to him during one of those nights years before and told Frankie that one day he’d be bringing you along to the bar to join him and the guys, he’d have laughed in their faces. But for a while, that was exactly what occurred, until you and Frankie grew so close that you usually ended up making different plans, like going mini-golfing, or lounging at his apartment and watching movies. Not that you didn’t love the guys, all whom you’d met except for Santi as he had been off the grid for just over a year when you and Frankie had met.

It was thanks to the elder Miller brother, Will, that he had even met you at all. Working at the VA office, Will had learned of one of the few retirement perks they had for putting their asses on the line for their country-physical therapy. And you came highly recommended, a star PT who had worked magic over his friends’ ailments. Knowing Frankie suffered from shoulder and neck pains, Will handed him your card and encouraged him to book an appointment.

He hadn’t called straight away. He’d popped your card onto his fridge and every day he’d pass by it, consider calling, and then talk himself out of it. Until the pain became too much to bear, his latest menial job just a little too physical for him, causing him to consider using again just to dull the ache. But he’d walked by your card moments later and instead of making a terrible decision he had promised himself he’d never make again, he called your office. Made an appointment with your friendly receptionist, who thankfully had his name already because Will had put in a good word for Frankie and asked that they try and get him in straight away, whenever he finally did call.

Two days later Frankie was standing nervously in the treatment room, looking at a wall decorated with your various degrees and certificates. He was anxious not only because he worried he’d get his hopes up that this would help the pain only to be disappointed, but also because he had no idea what to expect. Years of service as a pilot had made Frankie into a man who planned, meticulously, leaving little in the way of surprises. But he’d reasoned that calling the office back and demanding they give him a minute-by-minute account of what the appointment would be like was probably going too far.

And then you had walked in and immediately his worries morphed into concern over the fact that he required a beard trim, that he looked like he’d just rolled out of bed and popped his usual cap on, probably appearing a little gruff. And fuck, he almost couldn’t breathe when you gave him the most dazzling, genuine smile like you were greeting an old friend. You were bright, a rare energy radiating off of you as though you absorbed it straight from the fucking sun, and you were beautiful. No wonder Will had winked at Frankie when he’d handed you the business card.

You were observant, introducing yourself and seemingly sensing his overall discomfort. Instead of launching straight to business, you gestured for him to sit and spent a good twenty minutes casually chatting, pulling information you needed from him while putting him at ease entirely. He learned then that Will had already sung Frankie’s praises, given you the heads up that he was a worrier and even told a few stories that showcased his talents as a pilot.

If Frankie didn’t know any better, he’d think his friend was trying to play matchmaker.

This is so beautiful!

I love the way you weave the story, letting them grow together and form this beautiful friendship as a cornerstone.

And adding Colombia into it makes it even more special and I think those moments are my favorite here. Especially the bath where it all comes down. It feels so cathartic and beautiful and I felt like I was in the bath with him, all the emotions washing over me.

I’m also in love with Frankie’s inner thoughts and how he tries to keep himself from not doing anything stupid or something that would endanger his friendship, his light. That gorgeous angst just tugs at my heart and I think it’s gorgeous!

❤️Wow, thank you for the thoughtful reblog love! I’m so happy you enjoyed part one of this mini-series! Frankie will always have a place in my heart! ❤️

Saviours Coffee House [Prologue]

Summary: Negan hires a new manager.

Warnings: Language! We’re starting off tame, but get ready because future parts get dark. WC—+2.7k.

A/N: Even if you aren’t a The Walking Dead fan, you might like this story—it’s a coffee shop A/U, I really only take the characters from TWD!

Now

Your eyes were only on Negan as he stalked forward, his normally bright eyes dark with fury as he clenched the baseball bat in his hands. You’d never seen him so angry…you’d never seen anyone so angry. Apprehension coiled in your gut, your mind blank, a doe caught in the headlights. You knew you had to move, to stop him—but part of you almost didn’t want to.

It was the part of you that had been beaten and broken over and over screaming for it to end. Screaming for you to let it happen.

And fuck, you wanted to listen to her.

Maybe you would.

Way Back

Negan Dean was sat at his desk, staring at the computer monitor in front of him without really seeing it. His mind had wandered away from the shop’s accounting, the task he needed to complete. He had reason to be distracted, though, as he was in desperate need of a new manager, and he had a few interviews lined up that afternoon.

He’d put off rehiring for too long, left the manager position open and simply worked himself to the bone, running the place and leading it. But it had been months.

He’d needed to keep busy, after Lucille…no, he wasn’t thinking of her today. He needed to get the accounts sorted, have some lunch, and then start the interviews.

Well, if I’m bring honest, I lost my touch with The Walking Dead a long time ago and as not such a big fan of Negan, I was hesitant but so far, I like it! Not really s surprise there, I haven’t read anything where I would be given a chance to be. @bookishofalder You just continue to amaze me, my love

Thank you @wildmoonflower for always supporting my writing ❤️ I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this story! I honestly just use the characters from TWD, and even then I’ve altered some a bit since this is a coffee shop AU! So if you think JDM is attractive that’s enough for this story

Between the Sun & Moon | Moonrise

Summary: It feels selfish, to love so immensely

Warnings: 18+, language, mentions of violence/war (brief), smut, threesome, mention of pain kink (brief).

A/N: Welcome to the complicated world I created just for us.

The first time Bucky had seen you had been the same as today; you walking away, unaware of his gaze. This time however it wasn’t in the streets of Bucharest, rather the heart of New York City. This time, you weren’t walking away to be unsuspicious, to remain another face in the crowd while secretly determining how to help Steve convince him that Captain America wanted to help Bucky. No, now you were walking alone, leaves crunching underfoot as you hurried away from the Tower with fresh tears staining your cheeks.

The biggest difference, however, was that Bucky knew you now. He wasn’t trying to hide from anyone when he hurried out of the Tower after you. He followed, unsure of what exactly was going on but knowing enough to keep a polite distance. He had been showering when you were in the kitchen with Steve, having a conversation, and had been dressing when the sound of the front door slamming met his ears, followed by Steve cursing aloud.

As much as he wanted to comfort him, Bucky knew that you needed him more, and so he followed.

You know, I have a problem. I’m starting to lose words when it comes to your writing. I feel like I always write the same thing! I just love all your works and my english is not good enough at saying how much I love this.

Like, everytime, I just… swallow every word, every sentence and I’m amazed. Whenever I read your works and then look at mine, I feel like a neandertal woman in stone age. *points at your work* Me like. Me want more.

Your storybuilding is incredible. Imo, there is a thin line where you write how certain characters meet and how their feelings change and it can feel so forced so easily. But you got it flawlessly every time. And don’t let mr start on how you can transition between fluff and smut. It can be very cringey when written poorly but You always build it up snf ut feels natural. Plus, your writing makes me literally go from to or . (As you can see, I literally cannot word anymore so emojis we go…)

You are really too kind to me @wildmoonflower! I love seeing when you’ve read one of my works and can’t wait to read your thoughts each time.

I’m sure you know that anytime a creator sees actual comments/comment reblogs it can make their entire day! Same goes for me, I get so motivated to write thanks to sharing my work here on tumblr and getting feedback from my readers. Before, I had partly written ideas I didn’t take anywhere, and now I have a collection of finished stories and series and get so excited to get in the zone and write so that I can share it with lovely followers like you!

Justthank you so much for taking the time to say such lovely things, and I can’t wait to share more of this story! It’s only just begun!

@bookishofalderMy lovely, I’ so sorry I haven’t get to this faster. My Tumblr is weird again and not showing some notifications. Believe me, I was and still am so hyped for StarFish mini-series.(I’m sucker for Frankie but I’m even bigger sucker for YOUR Frankie) And you can’t even imagine how honoured I am you want me to read your work. Like, I legit woke up(I’m very zombie-like when I wake up so this is an accomplishment) and squeeled as if you stabbed me when I noticed. So, prepare yourself for a long review

I don’t know how you do it but every character you write is somehow so personal to me but Star is probably the closest as you could get (except the singing…I sign like a norca whale that is old and dying). The struggle of being big-chested is high and as I was bigger than most of my classmates(weight and heightwise) and the feeling that it may be the only reason men talk to you is sometimes very strong. It took me almost 15 years to realise that I’m more than just my body/chest. So the self-consciousness is hitting very close to home, even now, the social anxiety and the need to hide my body still sometimes overtaking my mind again. And you captured those thoughts so very clear…

I love it how you keep telling the story of Little and Santi through those little sniplets of what is happening-which I’m very glad for because I love them. They are comfort characters, despite their edges and problems-it makes them relatable. I love how caring Little is towards Star and boy, every person should have a friend like that in their life.

The place you describe for their honeymoon, I just imagined something like Maldives. Not sure if you went that direction but it just gave me the general feel and there is nothing more satisfying than to wake up at 4am to go to work but instead dream about sandy shores and azure-blue water.

I love how you think of your characters, you give them life. Star being a mother to two rescue pittbulls…rescuing animals is one of the most rewarding job you can do in this world and it fits the image of Star so much. I took my own Lady from a shelter and it was one of the best decisions I made for the last 3 years. I also love the names for those girls, Ana and Elsa. There is even a rescue pittbull in my town named Elsa so I can totally imagine that .

Now there is an important question-who doesn’t have it bad for Frankie? That man is a daydream and you make it even worse for me! My high expectations of men are not from Disney but from Lord of the Rings and people like Triple Frontier guys and Din Djarin…

Your way of describing the ways people behave with each other is so good! I love how you never forget to make sure that characters meet and know each other. Star’s relationship with Benny and Will, the big brothers of Little is totally realistic. Friendly and little wild on Benny’s side and warm on Will’s. How Star is adoring the relationship between Little and Santi.

Now, to Morales family. Rosie…I love kids to begin with so for me to say I love that little sunshine is nothing shocking for me. I love how Star loves Rosie and Frankie and how Frankie loves Rosie and Star and I’m sure he loves Star even more because she loves Rosie…it’s all connected and you are so good at capturing that with your writing! I almost got heart attack when she slid on that dock, even though I knew you would never hurt a child, even if it’s just a fiction story. I just know it. And Star falling down and slicing her leg…well, as a person with two left feet, I know that feeling of dread when you realise you made a fool out of yourself in front of people, especially somebody you fancy.

Frankie freaking out because Star is hurt but relieved his daughter is okay is an essence of being a parent. Him unknowingly turning to speak spanish from worry, letting him use words like cariño and amor- it shows the depth of his feelings, that need to be close to her, calming her down. His despair, for the lack of my knowlidge of better words, when she cried from the pain. Just…I had butterflies for those two and ever since I have discovered your writing, it happened a lot. And Little being a little sly sh*t, knowing her friends so well that she doesn’t even need proper words to tell Star she knew-it’s just incredible and marvelous.

I could go on and on about your writing but I cannot create an essay. I hope I have properly conveyed my love. I am limited by my knowlidge of English language and I feel like even then I would still be kinda lost for words. I hope it won’t sound cheeky if I could ask to be tagged in part two(and for Saviors Coffee House, and Catfish and Sushine…maybe all your works cuz they re addictive? And don’t make me start how excited I am for Between the Sun and Moon, I so wanna see your intake on Steve and Bucky).

Hope you have a great, great, GREAT week, @bookishofaldermylove.

Psst, I may have a little story for you later. As a thank you for always being so kind and generally my favourite person on this sometimes hellish site.

Omg ILY so much! For this literal essay you wrote me, the kind words and amazing feedback, THANK YOU!!

I am just so happy and grateful for followers like you. This kind of support only encourages me and gives me much needed confidence boosts. Posting my work here is in great part a way to connect with others who have the same way of taking a fictional character, falling for them and running wild with our imaginations.

Thrilled you enjoyed this first part my friend ❤️ I will most certainly add you to my permanent Taglist and look so forward to our next interaction. All the love to you ❤️❤️❤️
