Another shitty doodle!!

I’m a sucker for language barriers, so now seems like a good time to point out that some small magical creatures can’t be understood by non-magic beings. A few can, though. Niki, and other mers, for example, can learn English as a second language to her mother tongue of chirps and clicks if they want. Most just don’t.

However, most aforementioned small magic beings don’t know that they can’t be understood. Like faes. Faes generally don’t know that they can’t be understood, and also can’t learn English for bs magic reasons.

So Tommy, Ranboo, and Tubbos’ first meeting went kind of like this:

Tubbo (according to Ranboo) was very surprised to learn that humans couldn’t understand him or his kind in general. He always assumed that humans were just jerks who refused to listen to them.

So as of right now Tommy and Tubbo communicate through charades. Well, one sided charades. Tubbo can understand Tommy just fine. And Tommy is weirdly good at somehow always knowing what Tubbo is trying to say, to the point where sometimes all Tubbo has to do is yell at Tommy and Tommy can tell what he wants by the tone in his voice (voice being, as Tommy hears it, little bell noises, like in tinker bell) (Tubbo was very mad to learn that thats what he sounded like to Tommy, and made it very known when he just started cursing out Tommy’s stupid non-magic human ears and Tommy lost it because Tubbo’s face was red with anger and he was clearly just screaming but all he heard was a lot of high pitched fast dinging)

GUITAR AXE-

Technically this is in the doodle dump I posted (Jack is wielding it (him?) in one of the photos) but here’s Wil in more detail

I AM SO EXCITED TO ANSWER ALL THE ASKS I HAVE IN MY INBOX FOR THE BET ON THE CROWN AU BUT IM REALLY REALLY BUSY SO FOR NOW TAKE SOME SHITTY DOODLES I MADE DURING CHORUS

(ignore the one of Techno in the top left, that’s for a pirate fic called “Bones in the Ocean”)

Also this does feature two new character that I’ve hinted about but can now be officially added to the au >:)

Close ups and descriptions of the images under the cut (click for better quality probably)-

A Tommy doodle cause idk what I’m doing with his design:

A Tommy doodle cause idk what I’m doing with his design:

New character alert! Jack Manifold is one of Wilbur’s confidants, and very out of his comfort zone traveling around with a demigod. Mans runs an inn for fucks sake. I drew this with the idea that Jack was being forced to fight someone with a weaponized Wilbur and Wil was absolutely exasperated at Jack being completely useless with a weapon.

Just Tubbo being a little shit we love him <3

Ranboo outfit concept cause I want him to look royal, androgynous, and also, like, otherworldly or something-

Another new character!! Niki is a tiny Mer that travels with Wilbur and Jack, and here I was experimenting with giving her a little net skirt and some accessories (honestly I dislike this drawing the most because her face came out weird).

Because I haven’t posted in a while here’s Ranboo’s backstory for the Bet on the Crown AU! There were a few asks for this, but they were more Tubbo oriented, so I’ll answer those with Tubbo’s backstory!

Tw: a LOT of religious talk

Ranboo is a prince of Enderia, as I said, but Enderia hadn’t really had royalty for a while before Ranboo. They used to have 2 different queens, but when Endermans began to seperate, the Queens were given less and less power until their thrones became meaningless (the queens are not specified characters and don’t have a role to play, they just exist because I didn’t know what Enderia’s royal system would have been like before Ranboo).

The separation came when the Gods showed themselves to the Endermen centuries ago, and the Endermen began to worship them. Everyone worshipped all the Gods at one point, but began to seperate when they realized how different each God’s core ideals were. And how could they worship all of the Gods when the Gods couldn’t agree on what to preach to them? So the Endermen split up, dividing themselves to go and worship the God who’s teachings they agreed with the most. The Gods then color-coordinated the Endermen so they would all know who was a friend and who was a foe.

Enderia is now mostly religion based, and Endermans vary in color depending on who they worship. The lighter color Endermen worship the Gods of life and death (HD ((they don’t know he’s dead)) and Kristin) and the darker Endermen worship the Gods of destruction and construction (XD and Callahan).

The lighter colored Endermen, mostly white with a slight purple-ish hue, were more family oriented and emotionally driven. They were more creative and valued individuality, since the Gods they worshipped were more benevolent and valued these things as well.

The darker colored Endermen, a dark, desaturated purple hue, were more business and success driven. Though they did care for each other, they were far less emotional. They didn’t gain emotional attachment, and tended to think of things in a more straight forward, blunt way, as did their Gods.

Endermen are born a bright light purple, and they get their colors at 10 years old. By 10 years, an endermen child will usually have their ideals decided, and know what’s important to them. Usually an Enderman will be the same color as it’s parents, since their parents usually instill their ideals and teach them to worship their Gods, but it’s not entirely unheard of for an Enderman child to be a different color. And it’s not that there can’t be creative darker endermen or more stoic lighter endermen, it’s fully about what’s most important to them and who they worship, since the Gods grant them their colors.

Until Ranboo. Ranboo was born unable to remember things long term, and because of this, he never really knew what he wanted. He had friends who would tell him the benevolence of their Gods, and he’d want to be with them. But he’d have other friends who told him the power of their Gods, and he’d want to be with them, too. The only problem was that he could never remember who he wanted to worship long term.

For the first time in centuries, there was an Endermen praying to every God, not picking a favorite, and not taking a side. So when the time came for him to be given his color, he hadn’t decided who he wanted to be. And shockingly to other Endermen, he didn’t plan on deciding. He liked the way he was, as shy and frazzled as he could be, and decided that picking a side and losing his friends because of that wasn’t worth it.

On his 10th birthday, he woke up split colored.

There had never been an Enderman like that. Word of Ranboo’s strange abnormality quickly made spread across the kingdom, and he suddenly found himself getting more attention than he ever had. Some people were concerned, and others tried to drag him into their religion and away from his neutrality. Some looked at him with fear, some with utter disgust. His favorite, though, was when some looked to him with genuine curiosity about his beliefs, and he was always more than happy to tell them.

Ranboo took the opportunity to teach others. By the time he was 15, he had become a public figure for teamwork and love, despite another’s beliefs. He was confident, but kind, serious and yet lighthearted when he wanted to be. No one had seen someone like him in a long time.

Enderia began a trial period of intermingling with the other colors and, to Ranboo’s delight, they found that they had more in common then they had thought for so long. And as more and more people decided that Enderia should no longer be split apart, they needed a new way to govern themselves.

For years it had been that each Enderman followed the laws of their God, but if all Endermen were to come back together, they couldn’t all just follow completely different laws, lest the kingdom be completely anarchist. They needed a new set of laws, one that would allow each Endermen to worship whoever as they please, but put them all on the same level as far as what to do and what not to do came.

Ranboo was asked to draft these laws, and did a damn good job of it. In fact, when it came time to decide who should lead their kingdom and enforce these laws, Ranboo was called upon once again.

Even though he was still a child, he was the one everyone rightfully accredited Enderia’s growth to, and they only thought it right that he take on the crown. They all trusted him, since the beliefs they were now trying to enforce had been his from the beginning. So at 16, Ranboo was crowned prince, and he proved that their trust in him was not unfounded.

After Ranboo’s coronation, Enderia prospered more than it had in centuries, making new jobs, finding new trade partners, and all around became just a happier place. And the prosper only increased after Ranboo wed another prince, making it once again clear to the kingdom that he didn’t plan to follow any of their societal normality’s by marrying a different species, a fae named Tubbo. In fact, Tubbo was the first non-Endermen to come into Enderia in a long time. His citizens didn’t mind too much, the kingdom was just ecstatic to see their beloved prince so happy. Tubbo brought more fun and excitement into Ranboo’s life than he’d ever known, making him feel like the child he so often forgot he was for the first time since he got his colors. And that period of happiness and prosper is when Tommy meets Ranboo and his husband.

Now that there’s canon species for the Bet on the Crown au Beeduo, I believe I said I’d be posting art of it >:)

The Beloveds

this drawing isn’t my favorite and the designs may be slightly altered but don’t worry I will be drawing a lot more of them-

Also-

I’m on a bus for 5-6 hours tomorrow so if you wanna send asks I can answer about this AU (like any character’s backstory, how the beeduo met, if [random person] will be included they probably will be, how the worldbuilding works, etc.), that would be really appreciated!!

And if you wanna send me doodle requests that I can draw in like 5 minutes that would also be appreciated lol. I love the art requests I get but a lot of them are entire scenes that take a while to draw, cause dammit y’all give me too many good ideas. Like how can I take the serotonin inducing ask I just got and only draw a simple doodle? I have to make it a full comic.

And as much as I really do love drawing those, I can’t do that in a moving vehicle. So short shitpost-y ideas or simple fluff drawings might be easier for me (bet on the crown related things will probably get priority on answering since that’s my hyperfixation at the moment, but, as always, send asks about whatever you want <3)

The results for the Bet on the Crown Beeduo species are in!!

Honestly, that’s a lot closer than I thought it would be. It was mostly the second option in the lead for the most part, but over the course of the day there were a lot more votes for the first option last minute, which I thought was weird.

But, seeing as that won, even if it wasn’t by that much, Ranboo is going to be an average height enderman and Tubbo will be a fae!! (idk exact heights yet I’ll figure it out later)

But! If you’re sad that Ranboo isn’t a mini giant and Tubbo isn’t human I may have a solution!

@leetlezeetle made a really good mini-giant Ranboo and human Tubbo au series on their blog called the Above Average AU, so go check that out! There’s art, fully written short stories, and it’s all just so cute and so wholesome and Zeetle is just such a talented creator that I can’t recommend them enough

Ok so I can’t decide what to do with beeduo in the bet on the crown au so here’s a survey

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfONOU-jEyD5X9O7C9JdePzSLg0QhsmoN7xJbPaFXpyI0G6Dg/viewform?usp=pp_url&entry.473615716=Enderman+sized+Ranboo+and+Fae+Tubbo

I can’t figure out how to make the responses viewable to anyone but me so if someone knows how to change that that would be helpful.

Anyway close ups of the option photos are under the cut:

Bet on the Crown AU

It’s finally here!!

Ok, so, there’s a few things I’m changing but the basic idea and start of this au starts with how @aslitheryprinx said it does (the inspiration for this au is a fake fic title on xir blog). The main difference from what they mentioned is that Tommy is actually a king, not a prince. Also, I took the “weapon” bit really literally, so now Phil is a Soul Eater style knife.

Tommy is king of a wealthy kingdom called L’manburg that is recovering from a war that happened when Tommy was a little boy. His parents died in the war, which led to him being crowned king at a very young age. Technoblade, the kindom’s leading general and a close ally of the previous king’s, decides to raise Tommy to be a good ruler, and becomes Tommy’s older brother figure, even if he may not be the most emotionally driven person. All the matters to him is that Tommy is safe, and Tommy knows how much Techno loves him even if Techno doesn’t show it well. However, even though his kingdom won the war, there is still a constant fear that the kingdom that stated the first war, Essempi, will attack again and destroy them, since their leader, Dream, has partnered with other powerful countries since then, renaming his country “The Greater Essempi.”

Which is why Tommy goes to trade land for a legendary weapon, an ancient dagger that is said to kill anyone who’s blood is drawn by its blade. Tommy is deathly scared of Dream, knowing that Dream killed his parents, and wants the dagger to protect himself.

What he doesn’t expect is that the “dagger” is actually a tiny ancient cursed angel.

Tommy ends up making the trade and taking Philza back to his country after not only realizing that he is the legendary dagger, but that Phil is a person, and deserves to be treated as one.

Once they get home, Tommy explains to Phil that he can see how poorly he was treated with his last “owners” and plans to treat him better, even offering to let him leave if he really wanted to. Phil, after the initial panic of the new situation dissipates, explains that the legends about the dagger are true, and he was cursed to be able to transform into a dagger at will. He tells Tommy his history and explains that his wife is the Goddess of Death and his son is a Demigod, and that the latter is still on earth somewhere. Him and Tommy work out some agreements: Phil will allow himself to be used to protect Tommy when Techno can’t, and Tommy will use his connections as a king to try to help Phil find his son.

Now Tommy is slowly starting to see Phil as a father figure, and is worried about what will happen when Phil finds his son and abandons Tommy. And Phil is starting to care more and more about Tommy because of how much he reminds him of his son, and doesn’t know how to choose between wanting to leave and find his kid and wanting to stay and help raise Tommy.

Remember to send asks!!

There plenty more in this AU to talk about and unravel >:)
