I’ve never seen a kildeer hide itself that way before this one also stopped behind a plant with its butt up for a bit.

Seriously I should have gotten a camera way sooner…I finally got to find out what’s been making the weird noises, it’s a belted kingfisher. I had no idea they were so big!

I do love how orange breeding Baltimore orioles get I think this one’s a boy.

I believe this is a female Baltimore oriole! Doublechecked Cornell and apparently the female coloration is widely variable but anyway there were a ton of males out singing that day, so.… Hopefully she’s off to get rounder after all that nest building.

This kildeer baby ended up in the middle of the goose family

Canada geese are overpopulated as hell (thanks to all the open grass fields everywhere, great job humanity), but their babies are so fluffy :‘O

Female and male red-winged blackbird, on the way to make some very annoying babies no doubt (they are…so loud haha)

My instinct says female red-winged blackbird (uggg I hate when species are named after the appearance of the breeding males), so that’s what I’m going with. There’s a ton around & this isn’t where I usually see the cowbirds, so Occam’s razor and all that.
