The first time I saw this was like magic. I haven’t been so excited about a comic book hero’s costume since I first saw Superman when I was 2 and when I first read JLA in the 90s when it was Kyle’s old GL costume.

The Flash is clearly trying to establish Blackest Night event - with Deathstorm feeding on grief, Eddie Thawne coming back to haunt Iris, and the name of the event being dropped on and on - and normally I would be all for it, because I wanted to see Arrowverse version of this storyline…
But the recent developments make this event less and less likely, bacause:
1. This story is a crisis crossover and would work far, far better if this was this year’s crossover (especially because the one The Flash gave us was… poorly done, to say the least). But so far, two Arrowverse shows has been cancelled, while the third one remaining barely seem to be connected to the rest of the Arrowverse.
2. This story is tightly connected to Green Lantern mythos and Arrowverse still didn’t do much with John Diggle and his green ring. And the upcoming Justice U isn’t very promising in that regard.
Personally, if Arrowverse is going to end this year, I think it should get to do one last crossover - a proper swan song to finish-up storylines (like with Legends of Tomorrow) and let us see the Justice League in action. And who knows - maybe it will even be Blackest Night.
