The deep black of a strip of duct tape is elegant, if a little simple. It’s refined, and understated, something that would look fitting with almost anything you could be wearing, and anything you’re not. It shifts the focus to what’s been bound by it, rather than the tape itself. You don’t have to worry about that.

Make it bright pink, however, and you’ve made it ridiculous, childish. Something to be embarrassed by, something to bring a blush to the cheeks on your face as I bring about a blush to those on your bottom.

Bright pink isn’t refined. It’s not elegant. And it’s certainly not understated.
