My likes are private for a reason, thanks Tumblr.

What did Tumblr do while I was away? Why is my feed not chronological anymore. Oh god. Oh fuck. Oh shit. Oh god.

Heyo, I’m back! Sorry for the very long break, I definitely needed it but I’m glad to be back. I have a few things to post over the next couple of days, it might take me a bit to get to everything but I will try my best.

I’ve decided that I’m going to be taking a hiatus from Tumblr until at least the end of January, but most likely until mid-March. I’m going through a lot of personal things offline and I don’t think that I should be on here. So I’m going to take a break, and I’ll be back when things have calmed down. It’s not a permanent hiatus though, so don’t worry. Wishing everyone the best beginning of 2022 possible and see you in a few months ❤️

For my Christmasposting this year, I’m going to make a series of posts about Christmas and how it’s celebrated in the places where some of my TLs are spoken! Here are the different languages/places that I’ll be making the posts for:

  • Catalan (Catalonia)
  • Welsh (Wales)
  • Basque (Basque Country)
  • Malayalam (Kerala)
  • Amharic (Ethiopia)*

(* - I chose to do Ethiopia as a whole mostly because I don’t have a good enough grasp on Amharic or general Ethiopian culture to do Amhara regional traditions )

The posts will be under the tag #guillemelgat’s christmas around the world, which you can feel free to follow or block at your pleasure.

Also I’ve made a lot of Christmas, Hanukkah (sorry! I know I’m too late for that now ) and winter posts, if those are things that people are looking for here is a list:

Thinking of doing a post about different systems of language coexistence/contact and I’m curious (a) if people would want to see that and (b) if any of you guys have recommendations for papers to read/sociolinguistic contexts to look at. I have a couple that I’m eyeing because I think they’re interesting but I’d love to get a lot of diversity here.
