#blue kimono

This amazing antique kimono at Wing Kimono has a sweet fade of blue to white with a lining of bright violet. If you’re wondering how to take a very old kimono on the rack and brighten it up, this is the way to do it. 

They chose to layer a patterned pink and violet obiage with a bright fuchsia obi with a pattern of  colorful doves, a very unique motif that I haven’t seen before.

I believe the motif on the kimono itself is a type of curled-petal chrysanthemum, making this a candidate for a fall-seasoned piece. But the balance of blue, gold, violet and bright pink is so delightful I couldn’t pass up this picture. :)
