BORN TO THE SEA: FINAL WRITING UPDATE
Hi there. It’s been a while and you might not remember me, my WIP Born to the Sea or how you’ve even ended up on my taglist. I haven’t posted for ages and I’m sorry for disappearing all of a sudden. But this is it: My final Born to the Sea writing update.
After three years of writing and over ten drafts, there is nothing to be edited anymore. At least not on my part. The book is finished and I have signed with a literary agent.
I’m forever grateful for the supportive community I have found here. Camp NaNo 2019 is still one of my fondest writing memories. It was the first time I ever posted a last line, and ever since your support and curiosity kept me going, even when writing was hard. But Born to the Sea had to be written. I never once doubted that and through the years, the story revealed its true essence. I can’t express how much it means to me and I think it is safe to say that it’ll be forever in heart.
What a strange feeling it is to look at my old posts. Nostalgic and bittersweet. Sometimes I miss those times. I wouldn’t change a single thing and still get all the feels when I scroll through my old edits. But there is a time and a place for everything and times change.
With my agent at my side, Born to the Sea might actually get published - but only time can tell.
I owed you this update. And I owed it to myself.

Born to the Sea Writing Update #22

Born to the Sea explores a dark, twisted fate between lovers and a truth so harsh, that it might have been better if it didn’t come to light.
Today I retreated to the garden to work on my manuscript, which might very well be in its final draft by now. After a successful beta-round, it feels so good to read everything printed out and polish the last bits, before my querying adventure begins.
In a little creative outburst, I created these bookmarks and gave myself quite a lot of feels at the same time. I can’t really reveal the meaning of the ring and the red band because it would obviously be a massive spoiler, but both play a huge role in Born to the Sea.
Anyway, I’m really excited and dear @stories-by-rie promised to have another thorough look at my book baby. I’m considering to run a second beta-round at the same time, to check if everything is working as intended. My finished draft is in german, but if you happen to speak german and would enjoy a deep & tragic fantasy story with an m/m romance, please get in touch.
Also, please don’t worry if you don’t speak german. There is an English version in the making, as well.
Last but not least let me express how grateful I am for all the support I have received, especially during the pandemic. I have met so many lovely people, which means that I can look back on a positive and productive writing year, despite all those lockdowns. I love each and every single one of you.
