[Long but really cool ‘God did that’ story]

Last Thursday was night one of @ccfmain’s #BraceForImpact conference with Bruce Wilkinson author of, “The Prayer of Jabez.” He emphasized for a full hour how special and important it is to pray that prayer over our own lives:

“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request.” (1 Chronicles 4:10)
.
My mom has spoken this over our family ever since us kids were little. I’ve always been familiar with it but never really made it my own heart’s cry. But after the message I really wanted to start asking and believing God with this including the “enlarge my territory” part. It’s asking God to expand and grow the borders of your business, ministry, influence, or even actual physical land. But most importantly, Jabez was speaking in terms of impacting the kingdom of God. He wanted his spiritual territory to increase, for God to make an impact through him.

Day two of the conference. I’m walking through the church’s lobby and a lady I’ve never met before came up to me and asked, “You’re Jireh, right?” I nervously (idk why) said “yes” with a smile.

“I watched your YouTube video ‘18 Steps to Inner Beauty’ and shared it with my friend in Scotland. She accepted Jesus into her life and I’m now discipling her over Facebook Messenger. Keep doing what you’re doing; you are a blessing to other people’s lives without you even knowing it.

He answers our prayers before we even pray them (as that video is about 3 weeks old now). Sometimes I feel like we forget how much God DESIRES to bless us because He loves us. Because like any other good, earthly father, He wants the best for us. And He wants us to make it known that by grace through faith in HIM we can do anything.
