In every child and adolescent psychology class, you learn that teenagers can’t fucking help it. They can’t. They’re learning emotional regulation for more complex moments for the first time in their lives and their fucking brains don’t know how to react so they default to what they did previously. Teenagers are literally fighting their brains every step of the way.
