Time to bring back some news of what to expect of series two by Executive Producer Suzanne Simpson & WOF Creator Peter Bowker from an interview in 2019:

Back in 2019 Simpson stated that Series Two will be focussing on 1940 and the affects of WWII on the people throughout the UK as well as Europe. Bowker added that historically speaking the second series would begin with the Blitz taking place in the NW of England, as well as the major battleground in North Africa that took place in the following years. That we will learn more about Webster as Nancy’s backgrounds. And that Nancy will be forced to leave Berlin after having crossed a line at the beginning of the second series and will almost certainly be in the SU during some of the series at least.

Bowker mentioned that Lois will be trapped in a, and I qoute “Bronte-Esque, loveless marriage with Vernon.” after having accepted his proposal at the end of series one. She will be caught in a marraige without love in by all means in her eyes Vernon’s promise to bring security for her and her daughter. Lois’ character may suffer as a result of this relationship. Bowker too mentioned that various characters would have big storylines in the upcoming season. Such as Kasia and Lois meeting and the aftermath of Harry’s former lover/father of his child and fiancé having met.

All in all, we have no doubts more character arcs will align and cross as they have in the first series and there will be pleasant and less pleasant reunions, discoveries and no doubt cliffhangers as we have seen in series one.

We are estastic to learn of the news of Series Two beginning production July this Summer.

We expect to welcome back, Jonah Hauer King, Julia Brown, Ewan Mitchell, Sean Bean, Lesley Manville, Helen Hunt, Brian J. Smith, Parker Sawyers, Ysra Daley-Ward, Mateusz Wieclawek, Zofia Wichlacz, Arthur Darville, (and if not facing recasting due to the pandemic) Bruno Alexander and Erik Biedunkiewicz to reprise their roles or series two!

And hopefully we too will see Blake Harrison, Ansu Kabia, Benjamin Wainwright, Benjamin Lillie, Max Riemelt, Eugénie Derouand, Caellach Spellman and others return to our screens to revisit their roles in series one!

Returning to ours screens as their respectable characters Fall 2023 (per my guess)

According to a source & @cherubinhell for tagging us in another more trustful source through the official instagram, the estimated idea if all goes as planned is that:

World on Fire will begin filming series 2 this summer

Once again, this is the plan as it once had been a year ago, if all according to plan it’ll happen this summer. Fingers crossed my loves.
