Hey, I’m still alive!

To be honest, I’ve lost interest in the Sims lately, due to the lack of new content. I started this house a while ago to test the plant kit, and I decided took a few hours today to finish it.

I really hope that the next updates and packs will motivate me to play again. Well, I’m not really thrilled by the wedding pack (it’s not something new, I’m afraid it won’t include any truly new interesting features), but I will try it and give you my opinion!

Sims 4 - Mystérieux Manoir

While working on some new sims for the save, I realized that I hadn’t really created any occults yet. I decided to create some, including this lovely (and weird) family! 

Margaret and Marie Olven are sisters, both of them were witches. But the older one, Margaret, decided to sacrifice her powers for immortality, becoming a vampire in the process. This decision was difficult for Marie to accept, and the two of them lost touch. In the meantime, Cassim was born, with a gift for magic like his mother. But he played with untamed spells a bit too much, and was disfigured.

Nowadays, Marie is getting old, and is doing her best to pass on her knowledge to her son. Margaret decided to move back in with them, to try to reconcile with her sister before it was too late.

I will share this family soon I hope, with many other sims (I have about thirty ready). But in the meantime, I needed a home for this particular family! So I built this little manor in Glimmerbrook, with everything they might need!

Sims 4 - Logis Accueillant

It was challenging to create a three bedrooms house that looks spacious on a small lot like this, but I like the result! You can imagine that it’s an old village house that was recently bought by a young couple with children, hence the presence of some more modern furniture.

I also used some items from the last kit… even if I’m still not really satisfied with it. The style is too similar to stuff we already have in game, while these kits are the perfect opportunity to explore more niche themes.

Sims 4 - Charmant Cottage

And here is my first real home for Henford-on-Bagley (I mean, no budget constraints!).

I really wanted to create a cute house in the town center that would include a animal shed, a chicken coop, and a small space for gardening, and after a bit of a struggle, I managed to fit everything in!

It was also an opportunity to use the new buy/build content from Cottage Living. As many have already noticed, it seems that this pack includes less furniture than usual, but they look good. In Build mode, I don’t understand why all the new plants and trees aren’t easily accessible in the catalog (without cheats, I mean). I also wish the different door and window sets had more color swatches in common, if you want to use more colorful options, it’s hard to make everything match. 

I created an alternative version this house, on a larger lot, but a bit rundown, and with almost no furniture, to use it for a Rags to Riches challenge. You can find it here.

Sims 4 - Grange en Ruine & Départ en Campagne (Starter Houses)

First, thanks to the EA Game Changers program for giving me early access to this EP !

As usual, with each EP release, the first thing I do is build a house for my sims that will test the gameplay in live mode. But this time, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted for him, so here are two different starter houses!

The first is a run-down but spacious barn that you will have to redecorate with the money you earn from working the land and raising your animals. It’s also an Off-the-Grid lot (Simple LivingandWild Foxes are also enabled for both lots), so it might be a challenge!

If you want an easier start, the second lot is a simple but fully furnished home. Building starter houses is always a bit complicated for me, I find it hard to build an interesting exterior (and to decorate the interior) with such a limited budget, but I did what I could.

Buying one of these plots of lot will leave you with barely any money, don’t hesitate to use the kaching cheat for a bit of money if it’s too difficult or if you want to buy chickens and a cow directly.

I build both these lots for the 20x30 plot in the Old New Henford area of the new world, and for the moment, I’m not sure I will keep them in my save, we’ll see!

Sims 4 - Sous les Projecteurs

I know, we’ll all be busy building cottages soon, but I had a last lot to share before that for the modern area of Windenburg. It’s a simple karaoke bar, as I didn’t have one in my save!

And because I still had some space on the lot, I decided to build a fake clothing store in the lot I’m working on, using the new stuff from Dream Home Decorator!

Sims 4 - Château de l'Ormyeu

I needed a little project to distract me until Cottage Living came out, so I thought “why not build a huge castle, on this empty 64x64 lot in Windenburg?”. And after a few hours of work, finally, here it is… but I’ll refrain from working on big lots for a while I think! 

I had to make a second post for more pictures, ten wasn’t enough!

Small warning, before you download it: it is a big building, with a lot of furniture and decorations. I don’t think it’s the ideal terrain to play in, if your computer is not very powerful. And it is also the most expensive lot I have ever built, make sure your sims can pay the bills!

Sims 4 - Colocation Plaisante

I still had this big empty lot in the northern part of Newcrest, so I decided to build a big house for three roommates. As always, I tried to squeeze as many interactable objects as I could, so the sims who will live here will not lack activities to practice!

As you may have noticed, I have been struggling to build for quite some time. I don’t post many new builds, and under these conditions, I’m not sure I’ll be able to offer you my own Save one day (that was the idea, initially!). So I just updated my build posts to add their location, it should be easier for you to place them in your save. 

So sorry for those who were waiting for this Save. Of course, I will continue to post new things here when I get inspired, whether it’s builds or sims (I’ve already started creating new families and townies that I plan to share with you!).

Sims 4 - Parallélépipède

Thanks to the EA Game Changers program for giving me early access to this GamePack !

I wanted to build a more modern looking starter house, and it was a perfect opportunity to use some of the new furniture from the new pack!

And while we’re at it, I’ll give you a short review of the  Dream Home Decorator GamePack.

I will be quick about the CAS content… as always, it‘s very disappointing for the guys (or sims wearing masculine clothes), only a few items and they are not that great. As always, it’s better for the women. As always, there is almost nothing for the children and toddlers.

It will be really hard for me to use the new career in my save, as I built all the lots and like them the way they are. I could play it in a new save, but the randomly generated likes and dislikes make it difficult to build something nice or interesting most of the time. Well, I did try it, and it was… meh for me, already a bit repetitive, also a bit buggy sometimes. And that’s the only new gameplay in this gamepack. You can also look at Carl’s Sim Guides review which summarizes the other issues I had.

Finally, let’s speak about the best aspect of the pack: the new furniture. Of course, as I builder, I can’t deny that I am happy to see so much new content to use! My only concern is that the chosen style is a bit similar to things we already have (from Tiny Living, Eco Lifestyle, or Get Famous). I’m already working on another build, and I don’t think I ever used so many items from a single pack on a lot (most of the time, I like to mix and match things). 

I guess that’s all for me. It’s not a good game pack, but it’s a great double stuff pack (there are too many new items included for it to be a simple stuff pack). As someone who spend most of his time in game building, I should be satisfied, but I am a bit puzzled by the choice to make a GP so focused on this aspect of the game, while a good part of the community is concerned about the lack of gameplay in the Sims 4. I hope the free updates planned for this summer will help make the game more interesting to play in live mode, and make our sims more unique (and not only in CAS, but in game !).

Sims 4 - Thermes du Cygne Blanc

After converting my Source Émeraude into an onsen bathhouse, I didn’t have a single spa in my save.

I had the perfect location for this lot, in the city centre of Brindleton Bay. I was tempted to build something using the contents of the last kit, but I ended up creating something simpler, which matched the area.

I hope your sims will enjoy relaxing in this spa!

Sims 4 - Dans l’Air du Temps & Un Temps Révolu

Hey (once again), no time no see!

When I saw these two lots in Britechester, I knew I wanted to build two identical houses there, but mirrored. Decorating them in the same way would have been boring, so one of them has been renovated.

It’s always a struggle for me to decorate something modern (I’m not even sure I succeeded!), I have so much more fun on old buildings!

It took me a while to make these two little houses, I have a hard time finding inspiration these days. I hope tomorrow’s announcements will be interesting, and will motivate me to play and create again!

Sims 4 - Bâtisse Vétuste

I already built a lot for this location, calledSolitaire, but I really needed a new starter house for my save (I only had two!). 

As you can see, this house is in desperate need of renovation, and would be perfect for a fixer upper challenge! I don’t know if I’m going to play here, but if I do, to make it more challenging, I’m going to make my sims pay each time I remove a crack or hole in the wall (and there are many!).

Or you can simply renovate it in buy/build mode without money restriction!

Not much to say about this lot, It’s a simple house for Mt. Komorebi.

This would be the perfect home for a couple and a child. As always, I tried to squeeze in this small space as many interactable item with gameplay as I could!

Sims 4 - Sanctuaire du Soleil

You may remember a lot with the same name, which I recently decided to remove from my world. I had tried to renovate it, but was not satisfied with the result!

So I decided to build a new house, in a similar style, and this is what it looks like!

I don’t know yet who will live here, maybe a big family, as there are many bedrooms. The house is also decorated with many souvenirs of travels, perhaps the parents are explorers, or are interested in archaeology!

And this is the last of my old apartments repurposed! It was on the first floor of Pause Caféiné , it is now a small house with only one room, but there is also an office that can be converted if you need a second one.

After this one, I don’t have any more posts in my Drafts. I’ve been spending a lot of time on the game lately, I might need a break… but not a long one, just enough time to get inspired again!

This apartment was previously located on the first floor of Un Livre Ouvert. But since a repurposed all my fake appartement lots, I had to move it somewhere else!

So I created this modern house, once again for Evergreen Harbor. I hope your sims will enjoy living there!

You might recognize the interior of this lot : it was previously an apartment, inside Un Dernier Verre. As I transformed my fake apartment lots into various community lot, I choose to reuse these rooms to build houses. 

This one is now a cute house for a couple and a child, that will fit perfectly in Evergreen Harbor!

Sims 4 - Vision d’Artiste

Let’s take a little break with the fake-apartment renovations!

When I was making some changes in my Save to update some of my old lots, I decided to remove on of my old lots, the Villa des Arts, as I wasn’t satisfied with my attempts to improve it. But I still needed a house for the family that lived there!

So I tried to build something new, in a modern style, something I’m still struggling to do… and I like the result! So I hope you will enjoy this lot too.

I already renovated this one to move it to Evergreen Harbor, but I wasn’t really satisfied with the result, it looked so bland! So I took the original as a starting point to build this bar.

After posting this one, I will still have 5 lots ready to be shared, It doesn’t happen often, but I’m really in the mood to build right now!

Sims 4 - Un Livre Ouvert

I talked about this in my last post, but as they are not really functional, I decided to repurpose my three fake-apartment lots into community lots.

I only had one real library in my world, the Librairie de Dame Lilas. So I wanted to build a second one, a bit more modern. For this lot, I’m using the exterior from Vue dégagée, and I’m quite pleased with the result !

I even included a fake office space for your freelancer sims, and an area to practice debating.
