Y’all I just remembered that in like 8th grade French class, I was skeptical that my textbook didn’t list a first person past form for “to die”

My teacher argued that such a form is just not necessary in any situation, which denies the existence of
1) books written from the perspective of a dead person
2) existentialist memes

So anyway, what is “I died/ I have died” in correct French?
