I have 2 ofmd fic ideas but I cannot be fucking bothered to write them. I just would not enjoy writing these characters I don’t think. So if anyone wants fic ideas. I’m probably gonna post them
ok here’s the two ideas:
1. Ed receives a letter from Stede explaining things but he can’t read it, so he makes Jim read it to him. Jim gets accidentally a bit choked up when they read that Olu is alive and well, but tries to cover it up. Ed and Jim bond over pretending not to have emotions
2. Princess Bride AU. I thought of this last night and immediately thought “I’m sure someone’s done this already” which, according to AO3, at least one person has. but I’m not sure if they thought of the concept of Jim and Olu as Inigo and Fezzik. obviously changing some of the elements of the Inigo and Fezzik characters, if that’s not obvious, but just like. the love, the revenge, the kindness. also in this version, Stede and Ed have a very similar meeting and separation as they do in canon, only Stede doesn’t know the name “Blackbeard”, so when he leaves Ed to go back to his wife (in this version, obviously, “Humperdinck” is not evil), Ed spreads the rumor that “Edward Teach is dead, and Blackbeard has taken his life”, making Stede hate Blackbeard. so, like the Dread Pirate Roberts, basically, if that’s not obvious. I feel like I’m explaining it too much. you just have to really love the heart of the Princess Bride as a movie, but not adhere to its plot too strictly, for this AU, I think
I am NOT gonna write these, and even if I somehow end up eating my words and writing them anyway, I’d love to see others’ interpretations, so please tag me in them if you write them, because I’m not gonna check the AO3 tag myself, there’s way too many fics in there
