Fact: Owing to the need to keep an eye out for cats getting into places they’re not supposed to be, most cat owners eventually develop a sort of feline pareidolia, whereby any vague shape glimpsed from the corner of the eye is liable to be interpreted as a cat. This is the cause of roughly 90% of cases where a cat appears to have taken an impossible path between rooms or otherwise “teleported”.

Corollary: The other 10% of the time the cat legitimately did teleport.
