Hello, I’m Marc. I’ve been sharing my love for animation for the last 20 years on Catsuka, a free website with no advertising. I manage it alone, on the side, while having a full-time job.
I have already published more than 8.000 articles, with focus on artists and studios that I appreciate.
I recently launched a Patreon, if you want to help me to keep sharing this love, and to manage several websites :
- Catsuka.com (main website)
- Catsuka Player (featuring more than 4.500 films)
- Catsuka Theater (animated feature films trailers)
- Catsukids (animated short films for children)
I also made websites dedicated to Gobelinsschool,Koji Morimoto,Oban Star-Racers, and a tribute to Satoshi Kon.
Catsuka was created in 1999, originally as an intranet for my university classmates, and then made public in 2000. The website is know for its mascots as well (created by Gobi & Fik), which inspired many animators and designers.
Catsuka was also a TV show that I directed for 8 years, and a column in french magazineAnimeland.
I like to reach out to various audiences, sometimes with exhibitions, screenings in theaters, collaborations on books … but whithout positioning myself as a professional in these domains.
I created Catsuka first and foremost to share my passions.
Few weeks ago Patreon launched a “Lite” plan, whithout tiers, I chose this option.
So if you simply appreciate what I do, your help will be a global support in everything I undertake with Catsuka freely and independently.
The money from Patreon will be used among others to pay Catsuka hosting fees, and to fund projects I couldn’t make otherwise, like translating / subtitling interviews for example.
I’ll also keep you informed here about the updates/developments of Catsuka, and I also want to produce special contents for my “patrons”.
