Are those chain pants?Mail chausses were a thing, historically! Although I don’t think they were usually so… baggy. Much more fitted, from what I know.

And yes, I don’t think I could move in the cuirass, especially with that cloth overlay. Fitted armor that is enclosed and right against the skin turns you into a statue. Just ask Brigitte Helm:
