To sssselebrate Sssserpent Day we’re throwing it back to 2014 when a leucistic monacled cobra made headlines. The female cobra was reported loose in Thousand Oaks and we were asked to take her in because we were 1 of only 2 zoological facilities in the US with the proper anti-venom. We later held an online naming contest and she was named Adhira, which means “lightning” in Hindi. Our very own ⚡️white lightning⚡️ can still be seen on exhibit in the Reptile House.
