Hey! My friend @adescagram on Instagram invited me to try @feefal ’s #funguary drawing challenge! For the first week I chose: Coprinopsis comatus (Inky Cap)

Instead of something “scary” though I went for some ominous death positivity

I loved the design so much I immediantly added it to my redbubble. Take a look if ya want!

Hare’s Foot Inkcap? (Coprinopsis lagopus)? Or Parasola plicatilis?

These little mushrooms have been popping up in all the newer plants I separated a while ago, and now moved into my hibiscus. I thought putting the top dressing of sand would deter them (I put the sand to deter fungus gnats), but?? Apparently they are persistent. I will have to keep an eye on them and make sure the sand gets pushed back down around the base (otherwise the fungus gnats will crawl through there).

I can’t decide on what this is - my observations of them say it’s a Parasola, but the fact that some of these go mushy black and inky after a day or two makes me think it’s Coprinus (one in the hibiscus pot actually melted onto one hibiscus leaf and I had to pull the whole leaf off before it rots).
Either way, I’d feel pretty confident saying it’s a Coprinoid mushroom (in the Agaric order/family). The sand on top of the pileus is covering a small smattering of leftover veil, but all of these mushrooms have heavy striations even from a small size. The top is beige, but they are mostly grey mushrooms. This is the biggest one I’ve seen from the outbreak on these plants. A couple centimetres high, and no more than 1.5-2cm wide on the cap (most have been no more than 1cm, so this is big). Singular growths (not growing in clusters at all).
It’s possible I have a mix of mushrooms, since the dirt I used was mixed from a variety of leftover bags.

I’m not bothered by these mushrooms since they’re not in my room above my bed lmao.

Lawyer’s wig inkcap / shaggy inkcap (Coprinus comatus)

This gorgeous fungus starts as a long, softly scaley white ovaloid body, which slowly opens up and deliquesces, as you can see this specimen doing. This reveals the stem more clearly, allowing us to see the small, fragile stem ring around the fibrous white stem.

They are edible, but should be collected before the black ink begins to show, as shown in the second photo.
