Next Year in Havana by @chanelcleeton was the July pick for #reesesbookclubxhellosunshine and The Proposal by @jasminepics is a new romantic comedy coming out in September! I read and loved Next Year In Havana back when it came out in February and loved this story of family history and secrets.

The Proposal sounds SO cute “when someone asks you to spend your lifetime with him, it shouldn’t come as a surprise- or happen in front of forty-five thousand people” .

It’s heartfelt and original and the tension between Calla and Jonah is amazing and frustrating. There are moments where I feel lumps in my throat and moments where I’m laughing at the wit. It’s just perfect guys.

This weekend I finished reading You, Me, Everything by Catherine Isaac. It was a sweet story about Jess and her ten year old son William setting off to spend the summer at the French chateau that Jess’s ex- and William’s father- owns. It’s a chance for William to finally connect with his father, despite his reluctance to give up his lifestyle just because his son is visiting.

The story was cute, but I never felt fully immersed in it. The characters weren’t written with much depth, which was so disappointing, because this story had so much potential for me. Set in the French countryside, with past lovers reconnecting? Right up my alley! I wouldn’t be the first to recommend You, Me, Everything, but I do think it has potential for other readers. Just not my cup of tea.

Do you have books like that? I’m not against it, but I didn’t love it kind of reads.

My number one most anticipated book of the year arrived on my doorstep yesterday from @atriabooks and I am SO excited! .

The Simple Wild by @katucker_ (one of my absolute favourite authors ever ) is the story of Calla Fletcher and her journey from Toronto to the Alaskan wilderness to reconnect with her father, where she meets the gruff and burly pilot Jonah.
.
So many things about The Simple Wild sound amazing. 1) It’s partially set in Canada!! I’ve been waiting for Tucker to do this 2) I’m loving books set in Alaska right now 3) sexy, wild love interest who flys planes 4) it’s a KA Tucker book so it’s undoubtedly going to be perfect. I can’t wait to dive into it!! .
