Happy 5th Anniversary, Easy Eye Sound! It was five years ago today that Dan Auerbach’s second solo album, Waiting on a Song, was released, marking the debut of his new label. You can hear it again and get it here.

Waiting on a Song, the follow-up to 2009’s Keep It Hid, is a love letter to Nashville, and Auerbach recruited some of Music City’s most respected players to write and record the album, including John Prine, Duane Eddy, Jerry Douglas, Pat McLaughlin, and Bobby Wood and Gene Chrisman of the Memphis Boys.

“Living in Nashville has definitely changed the way I think about music and the way that I record it,” Auerbach said about working with his musical heroes. “I am working with some of the greatest musicians that ever lived.”
