You always thought it was kind of funny how your mother said Easter was her favorite holiday. Despite Christmas being Jesus’ birthday.

“Darling,” she always explained. “If it weren’t for Easter, Christmas wouldn’t be special.” And in some way that made sense. You didn’t really mind religion; just always made you feel a bit stuffy.
