Sokkaangfor@aangtheestallion’s Aang Rarepair Week, Day 4: Reverse Tropes/Last Time. A bit of an unorthodox approach, but I like to think of it as Aang and Sokka falling for the last time. Together, of course.
Aang doesn’t believe it. Not Kuzon. Not now. Not like this. But his disbelief doesn’t change the facts: Kuzon stands before him, hands alight with those golden flames Aang once found so comforting, so warm, his expression cold as ice.
“This isn’t right,” Aang whispers, shaking his head. “You know it isn’t right.”
Kuzon’s jaw clenches. “You lied to me.”

“I’m sorry, Aang. We’ve tried everything, but the disease is rampant.” the doctor said.
“Thanks for trying, Katara. How long does she have?” Aang asked.
Katara grimaced in response.
“At this point, it could be any minute now. Spend as much time as you need with her.” Katara said, putting a comforting hand on Aang’s shoulder.
Aang entered their bedroom, seeing Ursa resting. If it wasn’t for all the doctor visits and medicine that she had to take, Aang would never have known that his wife was dying.
“How are you, honey?” Ursa weakly asked, her voice a whisper.
“Fine.” Aang said, struggling to contain his tears. Aang lay next to his wife, holding her close. Her heartbeat was only getting weaker. There was one thing left for Aang to do.
“I love you.” Aang said, kissing Ursa. Ursa opened her mouth to respond, only for Aang to kiss her again. Aang held her lips with his, feeling them get colder and colder. Ursa’s heartbeat ended, and with that their last kiss.
