I’ll never forget the day you told me that you were diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. My heart dropped as my mind and soul was overtaken by heart attack and fear and tears poured down my face. You’re my mother, my protector, my guide, my friend… why, how, why is this happening, is all I could think?

But, you were also optimistic, strong, courageous, and a fighter - determined not to let this disease beat you, and it hasn’t!

#Sponsored - To kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I took my mom on the 15th annual @Delta BCRF flight. The flight kicks off Delta’s month-long effort to generate awareness and raise funds for Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Onboard the iconic pink plane were 160+ employee breast cancer survivors and fighters and 15 customers. Y’all… we had the time of our lives, partying, dancing, and singing throughout the entire flight. Words don’t even describe how impactful and emotional the trip was, but check out my IG stories for some BTS fun!

I’m so thankful to my #DeltaFamily for an unforgettable experience. I haven’t seen my mother smile and laugh so hard in a while. She was overjoyed and felt empowered! She’s already marked her calendar for next year so that she can reconnect with her new pink-sisters

The best decision that I ever made was quitting my corporate job 4 years ago to pursue my dreams of becoming a creative. #Sponsored - I’d be lying if I said that this journey has been easy. There have been rough days, countless “no’s”, and a lot of obstacles, but I’ve been blessed to have a supportive strong woman by my side. Now, I get to travel the world with the love of my life and inspire others to do the same. @Delta #DeltaAmbassador (at Delta Sky Deck)

#Sponsored - As I continue to evolve, I find it even more important to better understand my ancestors and their experience in this country, which includes how black people are judged on the basis of what we wear and how we are constantly shifting culture.

After coming out, my personal style changed from streetwear to a more sartorial and tailored look as I was discovering the world of dandyism, more specifically the black dandyism. The black dandy has evolved from slavery to fashion, intentionally appropriating classical European style, with an African twist and aestheic. But, the black dandy is about more than pretty clothing. It’s a mood, confident way of living, and deep rooted rich culture that is ever evolving. And just as the black dandy has evolved, so have I because there’s more to my personal style than just suiting.

Last night, I enjoyed a special night with my @Delta family. We celebrated the launch of the airline’s new podcast, “Delta To & From”, with a curated meal by Chef Marcus Samuelsson. The series, launching 11/25, highlights how we are all shaped by our hometowns, the power of human connection, and, how our curiosity motivates us to travel, thus gaining fresh perspectives on life. Check out my InstaStories for BTS from last nights event.

No matter where we would’ve traveled to, I would’ve been thankful to celebrate my mother’s surviving breast cancer with @Delta. But, to be able to travel to my brother @camsview and I’s hometown, San Diego, and celebrate as a family was even more special.

There’s always that bittersweet feeling at the end of a trip. [#Sponsored] - Like that feeling of wanting to be in your bed, but also feeling like you didn’t see or do everything you wanted to. I guess there’s always next trip or so we hope.

Here’s a short photo series of our latest adventure in Spain. While you’re at it, check out my latest blog post and learn more on how @Delta continues to help us empower others to be seen, celebrates, and free enough to be themselves (link in bio).
