A/N: Looks like Crush Crew is in session…as parents to two teens.

••••

Walking down the Third Street Promenade, fingers intertwined, the pair make their way to the entrance of the theater to meet their girls. It took a lot of pleading on the teenagers’ part but the agent and investigator eventually gave in and let the girls walk around alone while they went to Burton to check out some new gear for their up-and-coming snowboarding trip.

As they get a little closer to the entrance, Kensi spots them sitting in a pair of chairs, giggling at something. She looks over at her husband, meeting his eyes, and her heart aches because of how full it is. “Okay, so we agree. The new Chris Hemsworth movie.”

“I don’t remember agreeing to that.” His brow furrows in confusion as they approach the two raven-haired teens.

Kensi starts to say something but before she can get anything out, Pilar gasps. “No way.” Her brown eyes light up in surprise as they stay glued to the movie poster behind her parents.

The other three follow the 14-year-old’s line of sight in confusion.

Deeks’ eyes mirror their youngest’s when he sees what caused her reaction. “I thought that didn’t come out for another 2 weeks?”

“Must be an early showing,” Pilar answers as he turns back to her.

His eyes light up with excitement. See ya later, Chris. “We have to go see it.”

Kensi turns to Rosa, sharing a look with their oldest knowing just how much she was counting on seeing her favorite Hemsworth brother. Okay, maybe she was more excited than Rosa. Also, the fact that with all their schedules being hectic the next few weeks this was the one night they had to do something together as a family for a while. “I thought we agreed to watch a movie together?”

“What if we do dinner together after?”

The brunette bites her lower lip wanting to stick to their original plan but also seeing the look of desperation in her husband and daughter’s eyes.

“And I’ll buy you anything you want at the concession stand.”

“You were already gonna do that.”

“Touché.”

Rosa shares a confused look with her sister. “To-what?”

The husband and wife duo exchange smiles, both shaking their heads in disbelief at how far they’ve come. Looking at their youngest since it was her idea to go to the movies in the first place, Kensi tries to resolve the issue. “P?”

She looks back and forth between the pair, trying to decide what the right answer is even though she already knows what she wants to say. Going with her heart, she meets mismatched chocolate orbs hoping the matriarch will understand. “Sorry, mom, I’m with dad on this one.”

For extra measure, the blonde pooches out his lower lip and tilts his head to look up at his love from underneath his eyelashes, whimpering like a puppy just for extra extra measure.

Realizing this is not gonna turn out how she had originally hoped, the brunette relents. “Fine. You two go watch your shirtless werewolves.”

Deeks shakes his head, smiling all the while trying to hold back the laughter that wants to escape. “Uh-uh, missy, ain’t gonna work. I know that Viking’s shirtless in most of the movie you two wanna see.”

“Baby, you know you’re the only shirtless Viking for me.”

He eyes her carefully as she steps up on her tiptoes and places a sweet kiss to his lips.

The two teens watch their parents all but make out in the middle of a public place and before she can help it the words come spewing out of Rosa’s mouth. “You guys are embarrassing.”

At the words mirrored smiles curl at the pair’s lips, forcing them to pull back from their embrace. “Did you hear that, baby? We’re embarrassing.”

The girls share a look before they each pull their respective parent’s arms toward the ticket counter.

Later that night as they lay in bed reading, she suddenly stops as a conversation from tonight flashes in her head, bringing a teary-eyed laugh to her lips, drawing her husband’s attention away from his book and towards her. “Baby?”

She turns her head, meeting his concerned blue orbs. “I was just thinking about tonight.”

“You talking about Pilar calling us mom and dad or something else?”

Her grin grows wider as she nods her head.

At this moment…he doesn’t think he’s been quite as content as he is in this moment. Placing his book on his nightstand, Deeks takes her book as well, putting his arm around her and pulling her body into his. “You know, when we adopted them I didn’t think we’d ever have this milestone. They had their birth parents, their moms, and dads, and we’d just be Kensi and Marty.”

“Yeah, me too. But I think that’s the beauty of it. They chose us just like we chose them. Even though they had parents they opened their hearts to more…to letting us be what they need. Where one journey ends, another begins.”

He meets her magnetic mismatched orbs and realizes he was wrong earlier…this is the most content he’s ever been in his life. “There’s no one I’d rather be with on this journey than you.”

A soft smile curls at her lips as her hand finds his cheek, her thumb rubbing back and forth across his sun-kissed skin as he leans forward to bring his lips to hers. “My moon, my stars.”
