Daniel and Johnny are really pokémon trainers who just keep catching and collecting kids left and right. Like if the kids shows any sign of family issues or has potential, they’re just like “My child now ” and also fuck up in some way.

I love how Johnny instantly adopts sam and devon. Some of his influence rubs off on sam as she’s just flicking bottle caps and striking first. As Devon makes sure she’s not to give up so easily and keeps going to not make the same mistake. He didn’t have much students but he was like a proud dad cheering on for his kids and even spoke out to the ref if needed. The handshake he has with devon and when she lost to tory, he comforts her and sam at the tournament
