Hina was born after Diaboromon nearly nuked a city, and barely a baby when it ravaged Tokyo. Pictures, however, have made it into their technology history classes, which had become a required subject as Digimon became more and more commonplace. Keramon – a purple Digimon with a perpetual grin, two antennae, and a disarmingly long body, like a bug without four of its legs – is a Digimon that everyone knows.

This Keramon, however, is different from the photos. It almost looks like it hasn’t loaded all the way – like a character in a video game thats polygons have been constructed, but whose textures haven’t been applied yet, like a mannequin of a creature waiting for its color. It is very alive though, and as it swipes through the air Hina felt themself thrown back by the gust of wind, phone tumbling from their hands onto the floor. They let out a panicked shout as Keramon flies tore them, enormous claw raised, and –

Pusurimon emerges from the phone like it is melting out of it, a little ball of fur with orange hair prickling from its forehead. “I’ll fight!” it shouts.

What, Hina thinks. After some consideration, “What,” Hina says, because, as anyone reasonable might conclude when faced with such a situation: what??
