tagged by @yvesdot to post my favorite albums! very hard to narrow this down to nine. in chronological order:
folie a deux (fall out boy, 2008) – keeping to one album per artist. i am regrettably a fall out boy enjoyer. this is overwhelmingly my favorite album of theirs. every song is a fucking banger
hospice (the antlers, 2009) – this is not going on the fucking aux cord. this is music you cannot listen to in the car or you’ll drive off the road on purpose. however i think artistically it is my favorite concept album ever
lungs (2009) – classic.
strange trails (lord huron, 2015) – lord huron stan forever!!!
melodrama (lorde, 2017) – wavered between the first two lorde albums but oughghhh melodrama
dirty computer (2018) – has janelle monae ever done something that is not a serve
wasteland, baby! (hozier, 2019) – god when this album dropped i was abnormal
fetch the bolt cutters (fiona apple, 2020) – music that got me through quarantine. the entire first half of 2020 is soaked in this album for me
laurel hell (mitski, 2022) – one of Thee Albums of all time.
(runners-up include kesha’s rainbow, lizzo’s cuz i love you, & the lumineers’ cleopatra.)
