some more shots of our house becoming more ‘normal,’ this time with my office.  first we have my office in, well, chaos, which it still mostly is.  my cat Goma decided, when i was setting up my computer, that it was more important for him to lay on the power bar than for me to plug in 90 cords, so i took a photo of him instead.  once my desk was set, the cats settled in beside me for a little.  i’m purposefully leaving that space under the shelf empty so the cats can crawl under it if they’d like.  they like small spaces.

the last photo is most of my bookshelves, temporarily filled with all my stuff.  ofc got the Sailor Moon collectables, under that is some Utena and Free!  opposite that shelf is my G1 MLPs, the G1 reprints (which sadly are not as cute as the originals), and jars of Blind Bag FIM ponies.  under that?  Pokemon, of course.  i need to get a new method for organizing them (possibly more binders…), and then that shelf will look much better.  the bottom shelf is just manga and other books.

i have plans to make a foam-core display riser for my Sailor Moon gasha items, so that i can display more of them in less space, so hopefully that’ll happen soon and i can post a DIY for it!  if it goes well, i’ll probably make another for my G1 MLPs, so you can actually see the second row of them.

we’re taking the house organizing one day at a time, so we don’t get overwhelmed.  hopefully we’ll have more photos to share later in the week!

Hi everyone!  Milky here, just offering a random little shot of what the bookshelf in my office is looking like.  My Free!/figure shelf is sort of pitiful right now and the other upper shelf that’s a bit barren is going to be my photo spot for the items I sell but otherwise things are coming together.

Below that is what my temporary workspace setup looks like!  Lots of changes will come in the future but for now this is good.  Hope you’ve all had a great weekend, expect Beast to make much better posts sometime during the week.

We spent some time at the new place today and finally got internet installed, which was the only thing holding us back. My dad stopped by to help me install some blinds on the bay windows in my office because frankly the damn things had me angry as hell yesterday. But it took us maybe fifteen minutes to put them up once we figured it out.

Milky and I also spent time unpacking some of our stuff! The shelves in my office are already half full, and we delightfully discovered that we can fit a bookcase and our rather large bjd diorama in the closet with the doors shut, which is great for cutting down clutter and also great for storing our dolls which need to be kept out of sunlight.

So far I’ve only gotten my Tsum Tsum, G1 MLP toys, and Pokemon cards pulled out. I still need to bring over all of my Sailor Moon collectables and other nerdy things to fill up the other empty spaces. Milky’s got a start on filling their own office with lots of cute things, and everything is very encouraging!

We’re hoping to be able to move the rest of our things, our bed, and my desk this weekend. Once those things are there, we can pack up our cats finally and take them over to the new place!

Hey guys!  Beasthere.  You can pretty much just ignore this post if you want, but I wanted to make a little list of mini projects I want to do in/for the new house and make little DIY posts about.  If you see anything here and totally want to see it, let me know!

  • Tsum Tsum Display Box(yes I own lots of these)
  • DIY Bay Window Curtain Rod
  • Painting Rooms(snooze-fest but I’ll post about painting anyway)
  • DIY ‘Gem’ Drawer Pulls + Finials
  • Replacing Cabinet Hardware
  • Lining Kitchen Drawers + Cabinets
  • Hanging Blinds(you know some people don’t know how?)
  • Cushioned Cat Bench for Window

Alternately, if you’ve got any other questions about things that go down when you first move into a new place, let us know!  This isn’t the first house we’ve moved into, but it’s the first one that’s actually OURS and we can do almost anything we want to it!  The house is coated in a mocha sort of brown entirely on the inside, so sooner or later that will be erased room to room by crisp white, and I love documenting the difference a simple coat of paint can make!

Hope to be writing you again soon!

Also, you may have noticed this blog got a name change!  We settled on a new, more interesting name.  Rabbit’s Grimoire fit perfect because Milky, of course, loves rabbits, and Grimoire because it is essentially a book used to recordone’s thoughts, learnings, spells, and other useful bits.  This blog is literally a Grimoire of our first home!
