Is your mind mistaken? is your conscience not at ease?

we’ll find out.

austinkleon:

“A mycelial network is a map of a fungus’s recent history and is a helpful reminder that all life-forms are in fact processes not things. The ‘you’ of five years ago was made from different stuff than the ‘you’ of today. Nature is an event that never stops. As William Bateson, who coined the word genetics, observed, ‘We commonly think of animals and plants as matter, but they are really systems through which matter is continually passing.’”

whiskeypapist:

The Legend of the Dogwood Tree

When Christ was on earth, the dogwood grew
To a towering size with a lovely hue.

Its branches were strong and interwoven
And for Christ’s cross its timbers were chosen.

Being distressed at the use of the wood
Christ made a promise which still holds good:

“Not ever again shall the dogwood grow
To be large enough for a tree, and so

Slender and twisted it shall always be
With cross-shaped blossoms for all to see.

The petals shall have bloodstains marked brown
And in the blossom’s center a thorny crown.

All who see it will think of Me,
Nailed to a cross from a dogwood tree.

Protected and cherished this tree shall be
A reflection to all of My agony.”

I wish you all a meaningful Good Friday!

After all, I don’t see why I am always asking for private, individual, selfish miracles when every year there are miracles like white dogwood.
