Ryu talks about the epilogue

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing ok!

I wanted to explain some things about the ending in the epilogue since it was pretty vague and more of a hint than anything else :3

Sans and Red ended up in “our world” where Undertale is just a game due to them starting each of their machines at the exact same time and at the exact same frequency. The pulse that the magic discharge made, besides burning out the machines, changed their magic and made it act kind of like a magnet. Meaning their souls/magic wanted to connect them since it became practically the same due to the accident.

This manifested as the portals that connected their worlds and the world where they met. Luckily for them, getting exposed to one of the portals opened their magic to the ability to travel between the AU’s and they have been using that as much as possible. They visit between Undertale, Underfell and DollTale regularly so the skeles could see their brothers and to visit the human cause they became close and don’t want to worry them ;3

The only limit is that Sans and Red need to travel together for two reasons: they are soulbonded and would die if they ended up in different AU’s (their souls couldn’t take that kind of space/time distance) and they need both their magics for a jump that hard. But only the 2nd reason is a must for travelling ;)

Now, since they have been jumping into the void a lot and into the three AU’s they have… left traces in the void. Every port left a little rift of portal magic and it accumulated causing what you saw in the epilogue, more portals opened and more skeles ended up falling through them.

What does this mean?
It means that DollTaleis now an open AU and anyone can create for it! Anyone who wants to can create a story, make art, use a plushie/papercrafts/cross-stitch/modified doll of a monster/OC or any kind of content in the DollTale AU! :D

The DollTale AU is a universe where there isn’t much magic, so any monster that ends up in it gets shrunk, conserving the magic so they can survive. The only way the monsters can travel back or between AU’s is by merging their magic with a portal (like Sans and Red did) and having more than one monster to pair up during a port (because of how much magic it takes). The monster has to have the shortcut ability and if they don’t, they need to find someone who does have it and share their magic with them (e.g. a Papyrus that can’t shortcut has still has to get the portal magic and the has to find someone who can and then give them their magic to port out).
