It was also on the halloween of last year that I first started playing the game, so wanted to do something special to celebrate- I joined two of my favorite franchises (Don’t Starve and Coraline) into one, and had a lot of fun working on it- I hope you guys like it too <3
This was my main piece for the Constantly Obsessed Zine. The theme was “Events.” I started this in Fall 2021, and moving into the holidays I thought “Winter’s Feast” would be a good choice of event. I wanted to feature my favorite character (surprise surprise), and coming up with ideas, my mind zeroed in on this one. The whole thing is based on the examine quote Maxwell has for the Heavenly Eggnog:
Which is significant, because every other Christmas-centered/Winter’s Feast-centered quote has Maxwell being an absolute grouch about the festivities. I chose to believe that he associates the holidays with Charlie, and now he’s trying to distance himself from thoughts of her, and the pain that goes with them.
However - maybe there’s room for one warm and happy memory.
