My martial arts training has taught me so much about other parts in life, especially the value of constantly working on the fundamentals. This was a training piece I thought would be fun to show how it develops.
While I’ve been working on the figure a lot the past few months, my time in the studio yesterday was focused on portraiture from a model. This is 4 colors of pastel chalk, 1 Conte crayon, and a touch of charcoal on toned paper.
As the model moves some, it’s interesting how the perspective changed for me too as you can see with the evolution of the face.
