clamoribus:

seriously, if you have the episode app i highly recommend Dream Job: Silent Voice

this is the best story about an autistic teen i’ve read yet. it deals with serious issues, and it can be heavy, but you get content warnings right before the bad bits.

the characters feel real, autism is shown as the spectrum it is, and to me at least, a lot of it was relatable. i’m still glowing after reading it. it was a breath of fresh air! :^D

Thank you!

Hey y'all if you have Episode or have been thinking about getting it, you should play this story. It’s really heartfelt and well-versed and it’s written by an autistic person!

It made me feel…a lot. That’s the only way I can describe it. And it’s not just about being autistic! It also talks about issues with being trans and autistic, and having people view your autism differently because of your race. It’s a very good story and I think it’s something a lot of people on here would enjoy! Episode: Choose Your Story is a free app and if you get it you can play this story. I highly recommend it.

(Also, there’s a glitch in the code of the story. When I played it, I didn’t have to pay tickets to continue playing until the last couple of chapters. Awesome!)

Oh, hey, I wrote this! Thank you so much for sharing my story here!

I’d like to add that Episode isn’t accessible or tasteful to everyone. It has a really bad history of exploiting & mistreating people of color, mental illness, survivors, etc.

If you want to read Silent Voice but don’t want to or can’t use Episode, you can also read it on Wattpad here. (It’s also an expanded version!)

Thanks so much for promoting my work! It means a lot!

[Image description: a screenshot of the story Dream Job: Silent Voice by Luna Rose on the Episode app. The story has an illustration of a Japanese American autistic teen girl who is holding her phone thoughtfully,. Two stickers advertise “diversity” and “LGBT options” (because the main character is pansexual and can date a girl or a boy in the story). The summary states “Unable to speak, autistic Claire fears she will never be hired. But an opportunity to publish her work upends her world.” End of image description.]
