That’s my friend in the center, Alonzo Campos. He is currently earning his PhD in Education at Claremont Graduate University. He teaches Chicano Studies courses at Cal State Channel Islands.
I’m a California Central Valley native. Like most Mexican-American kids I grew up with tacos and baseball. My parents are from Michoacán. I’m culturally Mexican and civically American.
I’m a first generation college student. I earned a Physics B.S. from Cal-Poly, San Luis Obispo. I earned a Physics M.S. from San Francisco State University. At UC Davis, I recently completed an Electrical Engineering Ph.D., with a concentration in solar energy and business development.
